Has lbp karting been fixed?

Archive: 6 posts

When I first herd of lbp karting I was so excited to learn of the 3d sandbox. I preordered the game and couldn't wait for release. So when I first got my hands on it and tried creating I was devastated with the constant glitches crashes and other problems. I eventually just gave up on it and traded my game in and moved on. But now I'm curious. Has the game been fixed? Or at least running with out glitches and freezing my ps3? So how does it handle now? Better then before or the same?? Thanks everyone!2014-01-10 07:41:00

There were some patches. I don't know if it really changed something, but my feeling is that it's been a while that there is no more glitches by creating . Furthermore my ps3 didn't freeze anymore since many month .So it's better than before. But ther si still probleme in the pod when you try to play online with friends. It offen disconnected itself.
I don't know the point of view of other users.
Even if there is prblemes, this game is really awesome and offers hudge possibilities of creating. Unfortunately it is under exploited by the community with the lack of player.
Hope you'll join us back soon.

Thanks a lot gipsy and I really hope it has improved. I had a lot of ideas for this game but just got tired of loosing my created objects or them working one min then not the next. Anyone else seen improvements or no change sense the release?2014-01-10 12:18:00

I've never really experienced the majority of the issues people have talked about. Granted, I didn't get it on release, and came in a little later than some of the other guys around here. But, here's my experiences:

Creating - I've had only a few freezes, and only ever lost a lot of work once, a long time ago. You quickly get into the habit of saving every 15 or so minutes, or after you complete a part of, or the whole, object you were working on. The freezes I've had (if I remember correctly) only happen when my thermo is near full. Recently, I've had a freezing episode on my latest level, where the game decided it couldn't handle "objectifying" an incredibly complex object, that is overloaded on smaller objects, connected by motors, and chock full of logic, and proceeds to freeze the game at every attempt. I gave up and left it as is (planned on using a world to create my objects and then plant them in a new one to escape some hidden thermo memory). I think the biggest problem in creation is the engine used: the thermo fills faster than it should, and the game lags as a result, in a game that shouldn't even be stressing the system to the extent that it is.

Online - My limited online experience has been pleasant, with few disconnects and little lag. It is not as extensive as others here due to a lack of IRL friends and family owning the game, and life not allowing the time to game as much as I would normally. I think the biggest issue with it is the lack of active online community (which isn't exactly separate from..) and the lack of regular support, updating hot tracks and such. It is incredibly fun to join in with a handful of people and race several tracks, and share your creations, and this site has really opened that up where it's hard to get that through the in game community (or lack thereof) system.

Overall, I've not had much issue with the glitches and such, and my biggest problems have been me getting what's in my head translated, both mechanically and aesthetically, into the game. I attribute that to my lack of artistic ability, and not a fault on the game. I believe most of the issues you've listed have been fixed at some point or another, or tuned down. Jumping back in will be frustrating at first, given the 3D nature of it, and the odd specificity of some of the tools, but if you just stick with it for a little bit, you'll find most problems have a work-around, and that's where the creation really comes to life.

Come, join us, and share your imagination! (We're not a cult, I swear... please, have some punch!)

I have to agree with my friend above me here.
Personally I haven't Experienced a single glitch or bug to me the game has been pretty much bug free! I'm able to join all of my friends. I believe they'll be updating the hot tracks and team picks soon ( I heard that from a little birdie ). With the create just get in the habit of saving and just making a duplicate of your creation just in case anything devastating might happen, Recently I haven't experienced a single create bug since the games first few months. I'm they are doing there best to fix it. We have every single costume pack, including recent ones like DC and Nightmare Before Christmas. In all honesty you should definitely try picking this game up again, The community is great and there are a number of great tracks published you just gotta look for them haha. The LBPcentral karting portion is a a great little community. And most of the game is extremely when your playing with great people.

Feel Free to add me on PSN

HA ! See, i'd like to thank all you people who play tested LBPK for me. You did a great job, by the time i'd picked up a copy brand new, most of this glitch/bug problems were fixed.......AND I ONLY PAYED A FRACTION OF WHAT YOU LOT DID ! HAHAHAHAHA !
No seriously, by the time i'd got my copy i think things must have improved quite a lot compared to when it was 1st released. There is still crashes when playing online multiplayer, but it isn't anymore(or less) than Uncharted 3 crashes out/bugs out for instance. At least playing LBPK if there is any lag difference between players it doesn't effect the GAMEPLAY, or the entire race. I've played Uncharted 3 sometimes and it seems that other players have a half a second advantage the whole match ! NOT GOOD FOR DODGING BULLETS !
