Just a few questions
Archive: 26 posts
Ok, so I might not be completely aware of all the information on this game, so I have a few questions. Some of them might be already answered, and some might not be answerable right now. The first thing I was wondering is about is there any objective to the levels. What I mean is that do you design a level with problems to be solved in the middle and then you start out and you get to the end and then what happens? Is there a way to trigger the end of the level or how does it work? Also are there any other objective-based items you can add, like collectibles or something like that which you have to get all of them before finishing the level etc. Also, is there a way to lock your levels. You can upload levels for other people to play right, and if I'm right people can edit levels while playing. So is there a way to stop people from editing your levels and then saving it as their own version, or does it do that automatically (i.e you can't save levels that other people have created) Actually, I guess that's it. I had one or two more, but I forgot them. | 2007-07-12 10:01:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |
1.It might be an option to have a start to end, and you can prob make it as big as you want for example remember the gdc conference?when they were showing how to make a level then they said "okay lets show you one we already made" and instead of quitting and entering a level they just went behind the cloth and jumped off and they ended up there 2.I think editing while playing online will only have effect during that time(unless its your ownn level you are creating with a friend around the world)like if someone plays your level and edits it,it will only be edited on that time in that level until they quit, of course if someone else is playing that level besides the other group, the level will look exactly how it was done with no editing when they play hope you understood | 2007-07-12 14:02:00 Author: ReignOfDeath Posts: 466 |

I think. we dont know much on all the details yet | 2007-07-12 14:08:00 Author: Little Crow Posts: 198 |
yeah i hope so, im planning on creating a huge tomb raider cave treasure island sorta level with my friend that moved to alaska, and maybe we all can meet and make our own custom "LBP boards" level lol | 2007-07-12 14:12:00 Author: ReignOfDeath Posts: 466 |
Yeah that's pretty much what I figured for 2, but then couldn't people just edit or add objects to cheat past puzzles or problems? | 2007-07-12 22:09:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |
Yeah that's pretty much what I figured for 2, but then couldn't people just edit or add objects to cheat past puzzles or problems? nope, I think they can only edit the level to the max of sponge they had. This adds to the needing to find a certain sponge to build a block of wood to cross... "We are going to collect some sponge, which is what we can use to build stuff out of later" | 2007-07-13 04:42:00 Author: Reshin Posts: 1081 |

"We are going to collect some sponge, which is what we can use to build stuff out of later" Ok I have no idea what you are talking about at all. Did you see this in a video or something? | 2007-07-13 04:45:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |
yea the main one, YouTube - Little Big Planet GDC demonstration - part 1 towards the end. | 2007-07-13 04:47:00 Author: Reshin Posts: 1081 |
yea the main one, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI5JmcQv3n4 towards the end. Ah, thanks. I've seen that movie so many times, I don't know how I missed that. | 2007-07-13 05:02:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |
only adding sponges and pictures can be added during online play editing, that is if their not the creators of it | 2007-07-13 06:57:00 Author: ReignOfDeath Posts: 466 |
Oh, that makes sense. Adding picture's won't really affect the way the level is played. | 2007-07-13 06:59:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |
yeah but itll only be affected on that teams time play, for example if some other team was playing the same lvl at the same time it would look however you saved it as, other meaning the edits wont stay or affect everyone else playing it | 2007-07-13 07:03:00 Author: ReignOfDeath Posts: 466 |
right, it wouldn't make any sense for them to do it like that. | 2007-07-13 07:26:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |
yeah of course your rite | 2007-07-13 07:27:00 Author: ReignOfDeath Posts: 466 |
I was under the influence that you download the game to your hd and you invite friends into your machine and you guys play it. | 2007-07-13 07:40:00 Author: Reshin Posts: 1081 |
I was under the influence that you download the game to your hd and you invite friends into your machine and you guys play it. huh?i dont get what you said | 2007-07-13 07:42:00 Author: ReignOfDeath Posts: 466 |
you download the patch (the level) and you invite your friends to play it (people join your game in the PS3) leaving the original game unchanged | 2007-07-13 07:51:00 Author: Reshin Posts: 1081 |
you mean you were under the impression? Anyway if you have ever played Time Splitters 3, they have a similar thing. You can create maps and then share them online where other people can search for them by a whole bunch of things like keywords, genre, theme, user who created, and most importantly ranking, and then you download it to memory card and you can host a game and play that map with other people. | 2007-07-13 07:57:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |

What is Time Splitters 3 on? Playstation 2? or is it PC? It's for PS2 and Xbox and I think Gamecube too | 2007-07-18 04:03:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |
Oh, OK. Is the game any good? | 2007-07-18 04:39:00 Author: Chase Posts: 116 |
It's very good. Especially the single player. The multiplayer is pretty good too. But you can make levels for both story mode and multiplayer. | 2007-07-18 05:02:00 Author: AoD Posts: 181 |
Is making the levels hard to do or is it easy? Anything like Gary's Mod? | 2007-07-18 05:10:00 Author: Chase Posts: 116 |
