The Curse of Hatred RPG After many years of creating madness it's time to publish ACT I and Norman Hawklight's journal. http://ib.lbp.me/img/bl/00b7504027013a3259a9eced28751a59fbb4fd0e.pngHere's the level link: http://lbp.me/v/5mt7hg Decades ago, a Sage saved the World from the dark forces of Hell. However, the souls of the dead evils never vanished during all those years and a second invasion has started fueled by hatred. Play the role of Leonard, the son of the Sage, who has a lot to learn to become like his father. It's time to prepare yourself for the war and become one with an Archangel The story is written in Norman Hawklight's journal, it takes about 10minutes to read the whole journal. The story isn't presented in a scenario but rather in a book, however the artwork illustrated in each pages does make it feel like it's a movie. It's a unique way of telling the story. http://i3.lbp.me/img/ft/b535e2538c4ef3ff3c2458f24f0d9139dafa7239.jpg Explore the land of Hearthalia in many different playable layers. You can climb stairs or even enter secret caves by using the square button while standing next to the stairs or doors. There's 2 playable levels in ACT I, have fun! http://i4.lbp.me/img/ft/4943fa0ff0ec7243ee42095aa871e9c7e114ae69.jpg http://i3.lbp.me/img/ft/d138a8f37603887f6b5730c56570e6c55d6ae581.jpg ACT I-I : The Journey Begins Your adventure starts right here. It's time to wake up and face your fate. In this act you quickly learn how to use the map and travel through layers. You're asked to find a missing guard who was last seen near the Sage's tomb. What happened to him? ACT I-II : Arising Hero There's no time to waste, Norman Hawklight ordered you to find some suitable gear and meet him in the cathedral. In this act you're doing a favor for the smith which is actualy a favor for yourself. The smith needs an ''Astramongus'' leaf in order to craft something special for you. Getting an Astramongus leaf is going to be a lot more painful than expected... Thanks for the queue! Its not like much people played it so far but I just fixed lots of bugs/glitches and I implemented many new things. If you happen to encounter a bug, please report it to me so I'll have a blast killing it (there shouldn't be any left though) Cya! | 2014-01-01 03:38:00 Author: Sport_dude Posts: 622 |

Appreciate it ^^ I updated the levels once again. I'm surprised in the lack of attention the series got so far. I can normaly get a level that took me 1 day to create reach at least 100 plays, but this one that took me 2 years cańt even achieve 20 plays (after 48h). In the other side, I'm happy to see that out of 19 plays, 10 left a nice review. Oh well, I'll be patient and pray for the best! | 2014-01-02 03:42:00 Author: Sport_dude Posts: 622 |

Wow! The introduction you created, made me feel like entering one of this professional fantasy rpg video games! Very atmospheric! Fantastic! The game itself also is great. I felt the passion you put into this levels! Excellent! | 2014-01-03 17:12:00 Author: avundcv Posts: 2526 |
Alrighty, so I played and WOW, you've done a great job with this. The journal, the menus, just all of it is done really well, and I love what you did to make that minimap. The artwork in the journal has to be the best touch to this. I'll have to keep an eye out for the next acts. | 2014-01-03 19:20:00 Author: Tmjtk Posts: 258 |
I will look forward to playing this, qued up | 2014-01-03 20:34:00 Author: Townzee Posts: 157 |

I also knew that most of people who were going to play won't read it so I kept asking myself why I was putting so much effort on it, but I had fun doing it and I thought it was the perfect way to introduce the story. I really wanted a voice for Norman Hawklight?s journal but I couldnt find one. | 2014-01-04 04:49:00 Author: Sport_dude Posts: 622 |
I'll be honest: I never play RPGs. I duuno why, I just don't like them very much. And I haven't played LBP2 in ages. But I can recongize very hard work when I see it, and I know this thing has a lot of developement behind, so I'll get to LBP2 just to play this gem, because I know it will be fantastic. Fancy words for queued of course Let me see if I can do something to draw more attention to the project as well | 2014-01-04 05:02:00 Author: yugnar Posts: 1478 |
This level needs more plays. RPGs take a ton of time to create and this one gets my stamp of approval. I will be honest; I did not read the journal entirely because I was really interested in playing. I do like that its optional and you can got back and read it. I got a little tip for ya if you want more people to read your journal--because it does have some good writing in there. I will say with my personal experience playing rpgs, I normally never read epilogues. If I find journals in game though, I would usually read all of it. Why is this? I think most players wont finish because is a lot of load on the players when they initially boot up the game. Link removed- bypassing language filters This video explains this a little better than I do. Particularly around 6:00, it could be categorized as an exposition dump. If players are dumped with too much terminology and lore when initially booting up the game, its harder for most players to focus on what they are actually hearing or reading. One suggestion I would add, is introducing the journal after some type of gameplay or perhaps finding pages as they go would be a bit more alluring. Not saying your game will benefit from it, but I do think if you put all that effort into writing the journal, you will want as many players as you can to read it as it appears to be an important piece to the narrative. And this quick tip may be all the difference. Anyway, great work | 2014-01-05 00:23:00 Author: Rpg Maker Posts: 877 |
Wow, I monitored the WIP for a while, I'm queuing this now! Maybe the fact it get so few plays is because "RPG" usually means "you'll play this 3 hours straight", and not a lot of people have this timespan to spend in a level, no matter how good it is? | 2014-01-05 03:01:00 Author: Djibees Posts: 189 |

When you read it, it told you what lightpoints do and how it worked. In Act II you can find other people journal (that are 1-2pages long) and read it just like in Diablo 3. Norman Hawklight?s journal has 18 pages, that?s lot to spread in one act(and it takes a lot of space). Like I said before with the lightpoints, act II will have books explaining the checkpoints which is different than a lightpoint. Pages on the ground that you can read that give tips on spells, etc.. The environment in act I wasńt optimal for such things imo. I know exactly what you're talking about even though I couldnt watch the video (link doesnt work). It's not like they are forced to read it and they can always comeback and read it. Someone who didńt read it will still understand the plot. Just like in diablo, some people dont give a sht about the journals even if they are shown in-game, true fans will comeback and read it later. The journal itself is simply a bonus, the Archangel quickly explains the story anyway back in the tomb. I will use your tips in act II, Norman ?s journal isn ?t over, he will now write leonard?s progress and you'll be able to read it in-game. Thanks for the fb, your are truly the most helpful when it comes to tips/ideas. | 2014-01-05 08:22:00 Author: Sport_dude Posts: 622 |

But whatever you decide will work out great. I can tell a lot of thought went into this. | 2014-01-05 15:22:00 Author: Rpg Maker Posts: 877 |

I'm stating the obvious here but yeah, looks fantastic, it has always been very frustrating though, when you have to resort to the main character (and of course other characters) riding what looks like an automatic hovering chair which doesn't adhere to any theme other than some sort of automatic hovering chair level, it's worst when the level is set in the past, even if it's only "decades ago", but don't think this is a criticism of the level or anything, just me saying how I'm sure this may have presented a problem when you decided to make a top down level, this is the same reason why I just give up on all top downs I start, but it's great to see you have the persistence, and won't let that fiendish thermometer stand in your way as I believe it would become somewhat of a problem. | 2014-01-15 14:09:00 Author: Ironface Posts: 432 |
The RPG has been updated with original music by Destroyer5563 Excellent - he was playing me some stuff just after I played your level and I mentioned you, I thought it might suit yours, glad it does. I played this a few weeks ago, the only frustrating bit as far as I can remember was getting out of the basement mine in the town, it didn't register the layer change up very well. Other than that it was well done, kudos. From a gameplay PoV, the one criticism I would make is once you get in the town, the fetch quests pile up one straight after the other, it would have been nice to have something to break that up slightly, but I liked the fact you didn't make it too obvious and straightforward - getting the ball down from the roof was the biggest head scratcher. Part Two incoming? | 2014-01-17 19:01:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |

Part Two incoming? Thanks, without you, the series wouldn't have custom music. I've been doing lots of progress in Act II, it will full of action and innovative things. I seriously can't wait to deliver the next act, it will be something really special. | 2014-01-19 16:49:00 Author: Sport_dude Posts: 622 |
