I spent a month working on my level..

If you could play it and let me know what you think, I would love it

It is called
"To find a king"

and my tag is
"dobi6"

There are 4 distinct sections to the level, with some creative puzzles...

Well, I just played this... and am quite flustered... It's quite a beautiful level, however, it's definatly not without it's flaws, most/all can be fixed quite quickly and easily. The first thing that was kinda annoying but not anywhere near as game ending as some of the other things, was near the first cliff there was 3 trees covering nearly all of all 3 planes... this is more of a personal beef, but I'm sure most other players would agree. You should probably delete one of them...

Now that I'm past the personal problem here are some things I ran into. I made it to the clouds section on my first play. The jetpack here, is kinda ill placed as sometimes when you grab it you are right in the line of fire.... it should probably be placed in a no fire zone. (Note: you are automaticly moved above the jetpack once accuired.)

But that aside, one of the colored orbs (not the red one, I guess it's orange) some how disappeared on me. As I placed all of them in thier right spots, and was missing one... I noticed something in a corner that may have been it but it was ungrabbable. I think it still may have been it but somehow lost the sponge wrapped around it.... So I started the level over again.

Got to the three colored box things and placed them on the elevator. Noticed a hole/tunnel to the right so I jumped on a box, then jumped up into it, thinking I had found a secret area... then I saw a tool you used for level creation and jumped!!! landed luckily safely on the ship, by-passing a little bit of the level then I made it to the clouds again...

This time the puzzle went without a hitch, but then I was prompted to grab my little cloud buddy and take him back to my ship.... I grabbed him, and thought to myself "Self, this jet pack isn't going to be long enough, so you better disarm it now." and I did, only to find out that you can't continue grabbing something whilst canceling the jetpack.... hmmm.... there was no way to reach my little buddy without the pack.... so then I thought "This level took a month to make, so I'm sure he made the jetpack long enough..." so I grabbed ahold and wished for the best.... sadly the jetpack came out of range, I automaticly let go, and fell just out of range of the ship... into the ocean I went, to sleep with Davy Jones.... then I awoke in heaven... or so I thought... No, no heaven.... I sick twisted hell, where I would be trapped forever!!! As my little cloud buddy hovered above my ship, I was trapped in a small heaven looking hell.

But on a serious note, I liked the look of the level, it just has some problems that need adjusted. Send me a message when it's fixed, and I'll try again, and tear the level apart again thanks, and good luck.

Ohhh and try my level: Super Color Shooter

You know, I also just got back from playing this level and I have to absolutely agree with Maraz Matari.

I wouldn't be discouraged, however - even though the level has it's issues I think at the foundation it is well made and is fixable. If you listen to feedback, with some tweaks this level could be fantastic.

Here is the list of things I have found (some of which reiterates some of what Maraz Matari is saying):

1. Personally (take it or leave it.. I could be wrong) I'm not super crazy about the name "To Find A King". There simply has to be a better name for the level.

2. The "move the blocks" puzzle near the beginning. I thought this puzzle was well done, however it may be wise to have some indicator when a block is properly moved into place. Maybe if each block had a light embedded into it which lit up when moved into the proper position. This would not only give the player an indication they were solving the puzzle properly, but it would also look really cool!

3. The storm - In all honesty, Maraz is FAR more patient than I am - or virtually every player out in the LBP universe. Having the lightning combined with the plasma balls floating around, combined with the poor placement of the jetpack, combined with the shear AMOUNT of orbs you need to move into their proper positions (which based on the number of colors was a little hard for me to tell) just wasn't fun. And when things stop being fun for me.... well, just like most other players I quit (and if you look at the forum history, I practically NEVER quit). I think some toning down this area will prevent this level from being DOA. Maybe slower plasma balls and slightly less orbs that need placing (4 or 5 is really enough...).

By the way, #3 wouldn't be as big a problem if the entire rest of the level was designed as a hardcore game. Problem is, it seems like a standard platformer that suddenly has an immensily difficult and frustrating area in the middle, so you may lose both audiences.

If you make some changes to this level and want me to come back and look at it, I certainly will. I hate to have a level that is so well designed not be fairly treated because I believe it COULD be great.

Yup, this level has potential. If you just adjust a few things it could be great.

Ohh and CCubbage, I was actually convinced the puzzle was completely broken, and was just gunna return to my pod, but my wife really liked the looks of the level (as did I) and she said to replay it again I usually try and try again to beat something if it's challenging, but if the mechanics its self are broke, I tend to givce up quick

Ok... I made the changes...

And am ready for some more abuse (constructive criticism)

The advice has been a godsend, and I am looking forward to more.

Well, dobi6... I tried it again another 3 times... I see you made the wall hole fix, added nice noises and lights when parts of puzzles were solved correctly, good job. Ohh and have I mentioned how much I loved your little boat? The rope is awesome!!!

Anyways, on to the bad parts... Well my first play through I made it to the ship, and shot all but three of the birds and somehow got the notification that it was all clear but worry not, it was probably a one time accurance as my next two play throughs it didn't happen. I had a difficult time reaching the new and improved cloud this time (but once again no problems on my second and third runs).

Now once up in the clouds again I see you dealt away with a few of the puzzle pieces and slowed the fire rate, which made this place alot more friendly, and still a challenge at the same time However, the jetpack wasn't glued down (which I'll get to more on later). I was able to replicate the puzzle piece destroy thing and I think the problematic part is the lower left hand corner of the screen. There is a nook here that is just too narrow, and I think it wants to crush what ever get n there. As this time it was the purple ball.. also even if it doesn't crush the piece it still makes grabbing the pieces too hard of a task. I'd suggest changing the cloud material to another non grabable material and slapping stickers on the m to keep the cool look.

So the purple orb destroyed I restarted again, and this time made sure to keep the spare pieces away from the left hand corner and didn't experience the crushing effect again however, back to the unglued jetpack, this time it happened to land right infront of my little buddy.... so I couldn't get on him without activating the jetpack, and with the jetpack I couldn't get on him. I tried to grab my little buddy from the outside thinking I'd outsmart it.... and "CRUNCH"

Now onto my third run. This time I avoided the left hand corner, and made sure the jetpack didn't land on or even NEAR my little buddy and it was beautiful!!!! I finally made it down to the cute little ship again!!!! YAY!!! then I pwned up on the MGStorm giant and made my way to some awesome island. I found the spikes behind the bushes a bit cheap IMO, and from then on out avoided all bushes!!! Ohhh and upon arrival of the island I misjumped and fell between the ship and the island... ALL the way to the bottom of the map I took a pic and uploaded it put some gas here to prevent slippage but I did take a look at how you ship works, and I'll have to say nice job

The bridge section was really sweet, never saw anything like that, with the spikes. The boxes were cool... then... outta nowhere, there's a vehicle section that just seems outta place. Not a bad vehicle.... BUT!!!! I hopped up on it, blew about half the wall away, and then I guess I didn't grab long enough or something, and... well, the bomb was launched right at me.... AND the controls!!! The controls being made of sponge blew up, and this thing was on a firing frenzy!!!! however, it was also spawning the bombs just as fast so the bombs never actually hit anything, So I tried to move it back a bit hoping to hit the wall, and while the vehicle was bucking like a bull, it came down on the block used to jump up... and crushed it into smoke. I then fell off and was stuck with a bucking catapult, and a half destroyed wal alas, I think this needs some tweaking and I'll be back for more

Sorry. I always seem to find glitches in peoples levels Your not the first persons level I've completly torn up ask GruntosUK and his levels, lol. but I can usually find problems and offer suggestions for fixing. I really do like the level and would definatly 5 star it once all the bugs are worked out. Peace bro.

ohh, and play my levels some time
