Sack Hack - A level about reading LBP 2 electronics
Archive: 15 posts
I made a level a while back called Electric Logic Puzzles (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=80875-Electric-Logic-Puzzles-Test-your-circuit-reading-skills!&p=1116576#post1116576), which was all about reading LBP electronics on the walls, figuring out what they did, and pulling levers/pushing buttons to solve the puzzle. It got really positive feedback, so a friend and I co-created a longer, better, more challenging version called Sack Hack. The main premise is that you're a microchip hacker, and you need to break into this evil guy's lair and steal a doomsday device from him before he can use it to destroy the world. You go around solving logic puzzles, hacking into security systems, opening doors and such to get through his fortress. There are also secret expert puzzles for the bravest to find If you're into LBP 2 logic, I highly recommend it Even if you're not, give it a try, it may change your mind. I really had fun with this level, good puzzles and I like the story line as a reason for doing the puzzles My only suggestion is to add little more visual detail during the story portions - mainly inside the building. I got nearly all the puzzles on my first play through, have to go back for the two I failed. Just the right amount of challenge! | 2013-12-31 17:54:00 Author: Pookachoo Posts: 838 |

Played this yesterday. This was probably one of the funnest levels I've played. Even as an amateur logician, I broke a sweat, and was unable to finish one of the bonus puzzles. | 2014-01-01 18:25:00 Author: Kalawishis Posts: 928 |
I'm glad all (or at least most) of you are enjoying the level! I'll admit visuals aren't my thing at all, so I apologize for the lack of visual detail. I tried to make up for that with the puzzle design/story, which seem to be getting positive feedback. So I'm happy | 2014-01-03 02:17:00 Author: RabidJellyfish Posts: 130 |
In the Q for me. This idea sounds pretty fun! | 2014-01-04 06:01:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |
I must admit, This is amazing! | 2014-01-04 11:31:00 Author: Five-Ate-Five Posts: 197 |
I had a lot of fun playing this, or rather watching others play it tbh, as I have no logic skills whatsoever. I did get one of the puzzles right but it was pure fluke and even the supposed experts I was playing with resorted to random clicking a lot more often than I expected, lol! It's a cool idea and the puzzles are well executed. The addition of the funny story gives the level added charm too. I do hope you continue the series. This level came very close to getting a full spotlight. | 2014-01-06 13:37:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
We tried to minimize the number of puzzles that you could randomly click through, but it looks like you made it past that That's mostly what the alarms were for, to try to make people stop and think about what they were doing. I wish I could make Sack Hack a series, but I don't think I'll have a whole lot of time for that :/ I'm in college for most of the year, and I can't bring my PS3 with me because my parents use it as a blu-ray player, so I really only have summer and one month in the winter to play LBP 2. I might make a version of Sack Hack for the Vita, though, since I can play with that all year round, we'll see. | 2014-01-06 21:52:00 Author: RabidJellyfish Posts: 130 |
