YouTube Content ID System Flags Hundreds Of Gaming Videos

Archive: 6 posts

So apparently, YouTube has recently unveiled a new copyright system that has wreaked havoc upon gaming channels. AngryJoeShow, for example, has had 62 copyright claims on his videos, one of them being a simple, company-sanctioned interview, and most being reviews.What's your opinion on all of this - as it has stopped a lot of illegal activity on YouTube (pirated music, movies, etc.), is it worth the cost of hundreds of legit videos supporting the lives of those making them? Most major YouTubers are in it as a full time job, remember.

I won't link to AngryJoeShow's video on it as it has quite a lot of cuss words, but I highly suggest watching it. It's quite moving, as it made me realize that, if YouTube doesn't change their policies fast, his life, and that of many others, could be totally ruined.

While saying that Joe's life, for example, will be ruined is taking it a bit too far. It's a job for him, yes, but job is ultimately a job. I am not saying that YouTube has any right to force this kind of crap on its "workforce", but I am saying that it may not exactly ruin anyone's life, just make several lives a lot harder.

That being said, the case in point stays the same. YouTube has basically hammered the knees of its content-creators for the past few months, made the comment system unbearably stupid in every conceivable way, allowed companies take waaaaaay too much freedom for what content is allowed to be put on YouTube and most importantly, it is forcing the godawful Google + down its users's throats. What is being done is completely unacceptable. Basically the only reason YouTube is still used is that there is no other way for these people to earn money with their content.

Screw you, Google, for all this crap.

There's always blip, which some have moved to even before youtube got this crazy, but the audience isn't as large.

Also, not sure of what their content policies are now since they did something with them a while ago.

What happen to the YouTube we loved years ago? What happen to the old comment system and the old channel page looks and the great videos we had and we had the freedom that we wanted to do without this Google+ mess. I mean, What happen to those days we had fun about... All these great, funny gamers and people we had like Pewdiepie, Angry Joe, Boogie, Classic Game Room, etc. are now just going to have to find a way to get more money they need. Man, i miss the YouTube... ;_;

Google and YouTube, This is your fault. If you hadn't changed the stupid policies we would've be fine but now it has seem you ruined the YouTube we knew and loved for. (Sort of)

In my personal opinion, I think YouTube has way to many gaming videos on it. One of my friends thinks he can make lots of money by making a lot of gaming videos, but he only has 4,000 subs (not bad, but not good either) and about 40 views on his recent videos for the past few months. A few months ago all of his videos were removed for some reason and now his channel isn't doing that great. Though, he isn't the most entertaining person to watch.

I want to see more original content on YouTube.
