Going BANANAS! HELP!
Archive: 11 posts
Recently I got iDos installed, and I used iTunes to put a Windows 95 .img file in it. I typed in "imgmount A C:Win95.img -size 513,63,16,474" and got the message confirming it was mounted as varmobile...etc. Then I told it to "Boot Win95.img". I got the following: "CD-ROM Device Driver for IDE (Four Channels Supported) (C)Copyright Oak Technology Inc. 1993-1996 Driver Version :V340 Device Name : BANANA No drives found, aborting installation Device driver not found 'BANANA' No valid CDROM device drivers selected A:>" Can anyone help me get a simulated "banana" drive working, or at least explain why not? | 2013-12-06 03:20:00 Author: qwerty123456 Posts: 309 |
Have you tried peeling it? | 2013-12-06 13:49:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
Yes, but it said failure to unzip. Seriously though, that was the most called for joke I've ever seen. | 2013-12-06 15:19:00 Author: qwerty123456 Posts: 309 |
I heard of Potato drives, but this is the first time I hear of a Banana drive. Here's for reference: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-M0hGEAc5BwQ/T3VdFfB-0cI/AAAAAAAABmg/3gOL8JpCgjQ/s1600/plug%2Bur%2Bpotato.jpg | 2013-12-06 20:37:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
Alright, alright, if we go too far with the puns it's going to get moved to the forum games. | 2013-12-07 16:30:00 Author: qwerty123456 Posts: 309 |
Some recent releases have been found to contain potentially fatal bugs. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/11/04/article-2487042-192FF5A200000578-629_634x399.jpg | 2013-12-07 22:56:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
Wow, I can only imagine the unsuspecting people's reactions upon entering this thread and seeing all these puns. | 2013-12-08 14:08:00 Author: qwerty123456 Posts: 309 |
Have you considered that people here don't have the information needed to help you and that you should try seeking out a community focused on the subject you're having problems with. | 2013-12-08 14:16:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
imgmount A C:Win95.img -size 513,63,16,474 Boot Win95.img CD-ROM Device Driver for IDE (Four Channels Supported) (C)Copyright Oak Technology Inc. 1993-1996 Driver Version :V340 Device Name :BANANA No drives found, aborting installation Device driver not found 'BANANA' No valid CDROM device drivers selected A:> You could try mounting drive letter A as a bootable HDD instead of a CD-ROM. If not, you'll have to configure the emulator differently or find a copy of OAKCDROM.SYS since it can't find your CD-ROM drivers. It'll be the same command, only followed by the -t switch if it's anything like DOSBox. imgmount a win95.img -size 512,63,16,474 -t hdd I tried with a Windows 3.1 disk image I had laying about and it didn't seem to care either way, so it might work. I dunno why it's called BANANA, but it reminds me of the Amiga motherboards having funny names on them like Denise and Rock Lobster. | 2013-12-08 18:28:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
OH!! THANK YOU!! Finally someone able to give me a straight answer that isn't a pun! iDOS is actually just DOSbox being run on an iDevice, so thank you very much. I have tried it before with "-t hdd" and even "-t hdd -fs none" but neither worked. I'll try this with a windows 3.1 img. Thanks! Oh, and I agree it's kind of funny that it's called banana. I've seen people before with missing "TOMATO" drivers. | 2013-12-08 18:53:00 Author: qwerty123456 Posts: 309 |
Please no more puns or off topic posts. The OP is just asking for help, not your version of a comedy routine. I deleted the last few posts because it was just uncalled for. To the OP... Hope you got what you needed. Any more questions, feel free and ask. | 2013-12-08 23:59:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
