Princess Chardonnay in Bomb Kingdom

Archive: 11 posts

Hello everyone! I just posted a new and fun little level called, "Princess Chardonnay in Bomb Kingdom". It's a fun little puzzle platformer where you utilize bombs to collect pieces of cake. There are a total of 8 stages within this level. Please give this level a try, review, and, if you enjoyed it, a yay and a heart. Thanks! <3

sounds fun, queued

EDIT: Good gracious, you are short changing this level by not "selling" it better. Add some pictures and level badge etc. There's a primer on how to do all that right here: How to advertise in the showcase (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=73343-LBPC-Showcase-Essential-Guide-(For-Dummies))

Now, I got stuck right here. Believe it's the 3rd level. Is there no way to reset the stage? The bomb didn't blow me high enough or probably I just didn't react fast enough, either way, I got myself in a jam right here and had no choice but to end the level. It's really cool though and I love it. I shall return.

Very nice level. I enjoyed playing it
A reset option would be good. I startet the level three times because I had three different stages where I got stuck in a similar way, biorogue described.
However: Very good level

It certainly looks authentically 8bit, great job there. I'd spend some time polishing up the movement mechanic if you can, I kept getting stuck halfway up walls. If you made the collision detection smaller than the player sprite?? Is this an original or remake?2013-12-02 13:19:00

Really great job on this! I enjoyed it a lot. One reccomendation though. I like that you must restart the level if you fail a section, (makes it feel more like an arcade game) but it would be nice if failing a section automaticly triggered an end game tweaker set to "Success: NO." It's a small adjustment, but I think it would make the level feel smoother. But, besides that, I thought it was fantastic! : )2013-12-04 02:15:00

This blew me away when the first scene opened and I was further impressed when I began moving about.

I really don't want to come off as mean or anything but I was also disappointed a little after playing a bit. I think it comes to a slight lack of polish which is all the more glaring when the level design and aesthetic is so darned good!

I agree with the restart/respawn comment, by default I don't think that many people would ever think standing on the bomb would ever be an option, so you are likely to fail that stage on first attempt. I also walked off an edge and nothing happened and had to restart.

The clipping also is a little harsh on the edge of the platforms and you do get caught up a little. It is a really great design and I think that a few little minor adjustments with how you handle player failure would make this amazing!

8-Bit! My love of graphics! I've always admired 8-Bit level and especially the good ones that can make something more of themselves! Especially when it is an original character! Anyways, I can't wait to play and Consider it Queued!!! 2013-12-09 03:26:00
