2013 - Year in Review
Archive: 21 posts
So there goes another year - 2013. This thread is for sharing what happened this year. I made another thread like this before, but that was for last year. This thread is for what happened this year. Here are the few questions: 1. What were your favorite movies this year? 2. What new games did you enjoy and play this year? 3. What did you think of TV this year? 4. What did you do this year that was fun? You don't have to answer these questions in the way or the order I asked them. I actually think 2013 was a great year, but I hope 2014 will be better. At least this year is better than last year. | 2013-11-30 04:59:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |
1. What were your favorite movies this year? Gah, I saw SO many movies... 2 of my absolute FAVORITES were Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Pacific Rim. 2. What new games did you enjoy and play this year? Mostly I was chillin' out playing Minecraft most of the year, but for the past 2 months I've started to get around to playing League of Legends. No PS3 games have really interested me, but Tearaway shall be mine come towards Christmas time. 3. What did you think of TV this year? Absolute garbage. Seriously, NOTHING was good on any of the channels I watched. Maybe Adventure Time, Parks and Recreation, and some MLB here and there, but all in all I think I've spent a maximum of 15 hours this year watching TV. 4. What did you do this year that was fun? I went to a beach house in San Diego with friends for a week, went to Las Vegas, Redondo Beach, the Colorado River, and, to top it all off, went on a NCL cruise to the Carribean. 2013 was awesome -- 2014 shall be better. | 2013-11-30 05:53:00 Author: DominationMags Posts: 1840 |
1. I didn't really see many movies this year; in fact, I only remember half the stuff that came out. I guess I liked This is the End, and Django Unchained. 2. I enjoyed Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Etrian Odyssey 4, Ys: Memories of Celceta, and not much else. I've been enjoying mostly older games, via steam sale; or going back to games I had only played for a bit. Still bought a ton of 3DS games though... still haven't played the latest Etrian Odyssey, despite owning it since launch. 3. I don't watch TV. 4. I learned some coding, got a girlfriend, and started getting swamped by AP work (that I am currently procrastinating) | 2013-11-30 07:09:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
1) I'll wait until I see Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug and Frozen before I'll make any list/decision. So far, though, the best movie this year is Pacific Rim (objectively and subjectively). 2) All the games I have played, really. The best one is either GTA V or Bioshock Infinite. 3) Game of Thrones, Doctor Who and a few other BBC drama series (most notably Broadchurch) and TV-movies (most notably An Adventure in Space and Time) made this year television-wise. 4) I had fun, participated in forum games, went to theatre, ate thrash and gourmet, spent time with a few friends (I am very selective when it comes to people I spend time with), hovered around in LBP2, went to movies, watched TV, played games and my personal favourite: I went to an amusement park! I had fun! | 2013-11-30 09:11:00 Author: FreeAim Posts: 2462 |

I thought Frozen was for like, 8 year old girls, but then I saw it and I fell in love <3 | 2013-11-30 14:49:00 Author: DominationMags Posts: 1840 |

I got used to life down in Florida, got a girlfriend who somehow adores me, I loved Iron Man, Thor and Man of Steel... Bioshock Infinite was a massive disappointment... Yeah, things have more or less been better this year. | 2013-11-30 14:57:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Okay, I will have to bring another perspective to the movie-discussion. While I was originally going to wait for the end of the year, I am now going to post my top 10 WORST movies of the year in my opinion. Since the three movies I have yet to see this year all have reasons as to why they can't basically make the list ('Frozen' being critically loved and called Disney's best animated movie since 'Beauty and the Beast' (which means a lot, though there are some movies that are critically considered great while in reality are just poor movies in every way overall (cases in point: Life of Pi, Titanic, Avatar)), 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues's' latest trailer is just fantastic and looks like a proper sequel to 2004's second comedy masterpiece and 'Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug' is a sequel to last year's third best movie and the fact that it's directed by Peter Jackson basically guarantees a high-quality product). However, if this is to change, even though it's basically impossible, I will change the list along with it. Anyway, top 10 worst movies of 2013: In a world http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/49/In_a_World_poster.jpg I am really baffled as to why and how I came to see this movie in the first place. The fact that the movie wasn't even shown in Finland and the fact that there was really little marketing for this movie anywhere makes me wonder why this movie exists in the first place. Then again, I don't feel like anything was missed. The movie has a poor pacing and it's a structural trainwreck (which can be excused in some cases, such as "The Dark Knight Rises"). Overall, there is no reason for this movie to be seen by anyone and it is just very mediocre in almost every way. (4/10) Star Trek Into Darkness http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/50/StarTrekIntoDarkness_FinalUSPoster.jpg This movie isn't even that bad. The acting is great (even though Benedict Cumberbatch steals the show), the production values are very high, the music is fantastic, there are some really great action scenes and moments of very genuine drama... There is a lot to like. However, the fact that a movie whose plot relies on characters doing stupid things still manages to be as predictable as this one is just... Whaaat? Also, the "twist" in the movie is predictable as heck even for someone who has never seen "Wrath of Khan" or any Star Trek thing including him. Oh, complain about spoilers, as if you didn't see that one coming anyway! Seriously, though. If you actually think about this movie and still think that it's excellent as a whole, then I am sorry, but you are pretty easy to entertain. My suggestion is that you at least double the height of your standards on quality, if this is the case. I fear for the future of Star Wars... (4/10) The Host http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/05/The_Host_Poster.jpg I am going to be honest: the only reason this movie isn't higher... well, lower on the list is because I had no expectations for this movie at all. I knew what I was getting into and I know I deserved every bit of it for supporting such a pile of bad quality. However, I thought I needed some movies to call the worst this year has to offer. Just out of principle, this movie gets as "good" position as it gets. (2/10) The Croods http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/72/The_Croods_poster.jpg This is a movie I didn't have to think for a second before thinking "Wow... That was pretty bad." There are also reasons for that. Every character in the movie is annoying, apart from Nicholas Cage -dad and the structure is weak. However, as if that wasn't enough, the plot is predictable and boring. It's not the worst the year has to offer, no, but it's still pretty bad. (3/10) The Hunger Games: Catching Fire http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/12/Catching-Fire_poster.jpg Okay, I need to justify myself here. While I think that the original movie was pretty poor in execution, 5/10 in my opinion, it made me want to read the books. This movie, in turn, proved that I shouldn't have thought that way, because apparently I wasn't going to get into anything different. I only quote other people when they are able to put something in terms far better than I ever could, so I quote "MrTARDISreviews" on the movie: "One of my biggest complaints with the movie is that nothing really happens in it. Yes, there are actions and a few themes, but those are only present in the first act of the movie. Once our main characters go back into the arena they literally just wait for the cliff-hanger ending to happen. In short, 'Catching Fire' is a movie that only exists to move the characters around to set up the next movie. 'Catching Fire' is in such a hurry to retread the first movie (the reaping, the tour of the districts, the promotional campaign and the games themselves) that it doesn't have these mini-arcs that justify making this vacant story a 146 minute long movie. That is 4 minutes longer than '2001: A Space Odyssey', a movie that details the birth of all creation to a new form of evolution in the 21st century. Maybe it's an important installment in the franchise. I don't know. I've not read the books (and if a viewer has to read the books to understand the movie, then the movie has FAILED as an adaptation and as a narrative). But what happens in the movie doesn't FEEL important, despite what all the characters keep saying. And in terms of character growth, every character in the movie is exactly the same at the beginning of the movie as they are at the end (except that Katniss is a bit more ****** off at the end). The only thing that's changed is that they're in a different location in the world. Like the movie or not, that last bit is a fact. Not an opinion." While I agree with everything he said, I do have to say there are some redeeming qualities here. Jennifer Lawrence is a great actress (and it's a shame that the only role in any movie that is truly great she has ever gotten is a minor one in X-men movies) and she basically carries the movie (even though her character is given very little... anything), the action looks great and the dystopia in the movie is still fascinating. However, none of this really matters because the movie doesn't make anything of these things. This movie is pure setup and just isn't a good movie (and setup movies can be good, as proven by 'Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows' part 1). (3/10) Scary Movie 5 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/94/ScaryMovie5.jpg/469px-ScaryMovie5.jpg Hey, wanna play a game called: "How many bad horror-spoofs does it take to realize how to make one that doesn't suck?" Edgar Wright succeeded on his first try, making one of the best movies ever made, while the production team behind these monstrosities hasn't still figured it out after their 5th installment in this dead franchise. I mean, you know something is wrong when the best things in your movie are Charlie Sheen's (one of the worst comedic actors ever) one-liners and genitalia-jokes. While this isn't as terrifyingly bad as the previous one, Scary Movie franchise should be buried in a metal coffin, so it may never raise from the dead. Bad jokes, bad sense of humour, insulting plot and terrifying acting makes this one of the worst ones this year. The scary thing is, that David Zucker has actually produced some very good movies, such as 'Naked Gun'. He also co-directed 'Airplane!'. It seems like the true horror story here is Zucker's degradation into terrible horror-spoofs. (3/10) Movie 43 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/fi/e/e0/Movie_43_poster.jpg I am actually quite sad using Comic Sans for the title of this movie. I mean, the font deserves better. If you were unfortunate enough to see this disgusting piece of garbage, you are happy to see this on this list. Not all unrelated sketch-comedy is bad, as proven by a large number of sketch-comedy series all over the globe. As JeremyJahns said in his review of this movie: "There are better sketch-comedies on YouTube." Seriously, what is the deal with this movie anyway? Just because you know the movie is terrible doesn't mean that it's not. Well, I suppose the movie had some rough luck during its production, as it had 13 different directors working on it. This is a prime example of a movie that doesn't have a clue what "structure" means. (2/10) A Good Day of Die Hard http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/fi/1/19/A_Good_Day_to_Die_Hard.jpg I actually think that all the other movies of this franchise are really good. The first one is a great character study and a very good action-flick (9/10), the second one is great fun and a very good action movie altogether (8/10), With a Vengeance is a really good piece of continuation and a great sequel to the first one (8/10) and the fourth one is a great return from John McClane to the modern age (8/10). This piece of crap is none of those things. This is a bad, stupid, poorly executed piece of trash that should not be seen by anyone under any condition. Remember this series as it used to be, not as the unintelligent, un-fun and poor thing it has devolved to (2/10). Diana http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4f/Diana_poster.jpg I wasn't going to see this movie to begin with. I came to see this movie when a British friend of mine asked if this one was as bad as he thought. He said I shouldn't wait until December to pay for a ticket and watch this and I should just watch it illegally from the internet. I don't usually do such a thing, but now I am glad for my choice. This really is a very terrible film. Diana is one of those rare movies, that doesn't work in any way just because of the ineptitude of its production. I really can find only one good quality in this movie and that's that the main actors are trying to bring life into the ciphers they are "acting". If it was any other director but Oliver Hirschbiegel, I'd say that this movie is its director's downfall (get it?). (1/10) The Lone Ranger http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/fi/thumb/d/d1/The-lone-ranger.jpg/419px-The-lone-ranger.jpg Is it just me, or has Disney successfully published two movies that are equally bad in two years? Well, last year's 'John Carter' was unarguably terrible, but it was not the 'Lone Ranger'. I hate this movie. I really do. It gets nothing right nor does it look like it tries to. The actors sort of try to get something across, but when the script is actively fighting against them, it doesn't let anything good to be caused by it. As if that wasn't bad enough, this movie is also literally insulting. Since this is not the time and place for me to explain why, due to the excessive amount of swearing I would need to do, I will just say that when a movie relies entirely on Johnny Depp literally attracting young girls to watch it and actually sacrifices its other main role to him, the movie is terrible, no matter which way you put it. I will simply state two things: Johnny Derp, you are not a Native American, no matter how much you think that way and this movie is the worst movie of this year. In fact, this movie irritated and angered me so much, that I actually gave it a lower score than I normally would give to any movie that would be as bad as this one. (0/10) I am kind of glad I am over with that one. I actually got progressively angrier while writing that and at the end, I was just smashing my keyboard and removing the extra letters. Even so, I had more fun writing this than I had watching those movies. | 2013-12-01 11:02:00 Author: FreeAim Posts: 2462 |
Well, if we're talking about worst movies here... Ender's Game I've read the book, and I've loved the book, and my God, this movie is dumb. They must have spend a good deal of their budget getting Harrison Ford on, because it didn't feel like a movie so much as a very long trailer, because they rush over so much stuff it's like you're only getting a glimpse at things. If they've made the movie 45 minutes to an hour longer, and cut out some stuff, then they would have been able to spend a good amount of time on stuff, like the characters. Speaking of which, oh God. The lack of time means that the characterization is so rushed you barely get a feel for these guys, especially Valentine and Bean. Also, Bonzo is shorter than Ender. Bonzo is shorter than Ender. For God's sake. | 2013-12-01 14:22:00 Author: Kalawishis Posts: 928 |
I don't know if this is the best place for it, but people have been talking about the Hobbit and movies they love or hate. I am saddened that they took the wonderfully whimsical adventure told in the book and transformed it into a more seriously toned advertisement for the more serious sequel, The Lord Of The Rings. While I feel LotR was expertly translated and had better pacing than the source material, the Hobbit is an entirely different creature and needed to be handled accordingly. Instead, it's soul was stripped away and remade to be a much more foreboding piece and I almost don't recognize the direction it is going because they are ignoring the simpler more innocent mindset that "There and Back Again" was told from. While LotR is told from Frodo's "lost innocence" perspective, the Hobbit is a tale told by his much more naive uncle Bilbo, a Hobbit from a less perilous simpler time. But Jackson is cheating us by giving us a more "Frodo" take on the story. I think the biggest casualty will be how the dwarves imprisonment in the wood elf kingdom is treated. We probably won't see the boisterous jolly elves of the book. I think they will be replaced by Jackson's sad noble elves from LotR. I am not entirely disappointed with the first movie, I just think we aren't getting the best version we could have gotten. I think perhaps it would have been better if the Hobbit had been made before LotR, so that its soul could remain intact. I will still see the second movie, but I fear it will never be as good as opening the book and reading the source material. Anyway, that is my take on things. | 2013-12-01 17:04:00 Author: DreadRandal Posts: 434 |
So... 2013 was the year of the movies, it seems. | 2013-12-01 17:07:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
1. I enjoyed a few movies this year- many came out as disappointments- but I enjoyed 'This is the End', 'The World's End' (Positively surprising) and I 'Catching Fire' was also pretty good. 2. Emm... All of them were disappointments really- however I havent got Battlefield 4 yet so might change 3. Tv wise- Walking dead good, Breaking bad ended And thats about it for me with current Tv xD Spent a lot of time watching the US Office on Netflix recently, as I do with every Tv show 4. Well I went on a Ski trip in New Hampshire, and then visited Boston afterwards in February, saw Fall Out Boy live- even though I was dragged along I had lots of fun, and at least the played some of their older stuff that I actually liked, had a fun summer at home that didnt consist of me staying inside everyday, got my first girlfriend... And I think that is it Overall this year has been ok, some minor things set me back but last year didnt raise the bar too high, and 2011 was even worse- but I guess I have had worse years- saying that I had no expectations at the start of this year, nothing that would of gotten me hyped over this year other than going to the States at the beginning | 2013-12-01 17:17:00 Author: Awesome_Guy Posts: 167 |
If I had to list my favorite "TV show" of 2013, my pick is the Netflix original series "House of Cards". Kevin Spacey is so good at being bad, in this case as a member of Congress. I love watching him just ruin people for his own benefit. You even find yourself hoping he gets away with it, then reminding yourself what a scoundrel he is and that he really needs to be exposed... Or wait, should he? Is his ultimate goal to take down people worse than him? You tend to find it hard to feel sorry for the people he bests, as they are just as bad if not worse. | 2013-12-01 19:42:00 Author: DreadRandal Posts: 434 |
Even if I'm an adult, I still like kiddie movies, but I do enjoy some of the adult stuff. Here's what I did this year: Personal life: I had some friends - that I met in high school before I moved - visit me. They had two visits this year. I shown them some of the restaurants in town, played some board games, and I even shown them how the Cross Controller thing worked. Aside from their visits, I got myself a PS Vita, I helped LBPCers get their Cross-Controller prizes, I was working on a story that I plan on publishing, and I've been giving up McDonald's for an entire year. Movies: I only saw three in theaters this year - Monsters University, Turbo, and Free Birds. TV shows: I've been devoting myself to Food Network, so I watched some shows on Food Network. The only two I see there and pay attention to are Guy's Grocery Games and Halloween Wars. Video Games: I've been sticking to LBP2 and LBPV, but most of all, I've played Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Yeah, I time travel excessively. I even started in January on my second town (it was October in real life when I started). This year was a pretty fun year. | 2013-12-01 19:55:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |
Okay guys, hustle up, because this was the tv year. We got, game of thrones, which was gorgeous - almost as good as Breaking Bad which finished this year; its last season as good as ever. Then we got black mirror season 2, Utopia, Doctor Who, and of course, the final episode of the IT crowd. WAS SO GOOD. Erm films, I really enjoyed Gravity, sunshine on Leith and monsters university. Catching fire was pretty meh. Games: Not really been playing many, school life has kept me busy >.< Personal: I went trekking for a month with my friends in summer, which was pretty unforgettable. I actually went to a party and had a good time. I had a great birthday thing with my friends, went on the scare mazes in Thorpe park, got some pretty good exam results and am really enjoying A levels; I also went to see Imagine Dragons and Knife party. This was a p cool year <3 | 2013-12-01 20:26:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |
2013 wasn't as great as last year to me, but here's my year in review. 1. Once again, I only watched one movie this year. "Star Trek: Into Darkness" is as excellent as the previous movie, and I can see why Disney and Lucasfilms hired J.J. Abrams to direct "Star Wars Episode VII". The movies that I have missed, but I'll be watching them on Blu-Ray and Netflix are "Iron Man 3", "Pacific Rim", "Monsters University", "Gravity" and "Man of Steel". I'll be looking forward to check out the new Hobbit, Hunger Games, and Disney animated movie at some point this month. 2. The games I have been enjoying the most this year are LBPV, "Pokemon X", "Pokemon Black 2/White 2", "Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition", and "New Super Mario/Luigi Bros. U". The worst part of my gaming experience this year is that my PS3's disc player broke, so for now I'm saving money for a new PS3. I missed LBP2 and "Skyrim" , but good thing I backed up all of my PS3 save files. Other than that, I started a new level series in LBPV known as "Time Warp Chronicles", I made an awesome "Pokemon X" team (Greninja, Pangoro, Aegislash, (Mega) Charizard (X), (Mega) Abomasnow, and Xerneas or Slyveon), and I have been enjoying other games besides the above. 3. TV shows have been improving lately. The good animated shows that are worth watching this year are "The Legend of Korra" Book 2, the new "TMNT" series, "Sanjay and Craig", "Adventure Time", "Regular Show", "Gravity Falls", "Wander Over Yonder", and "Steven Universe". Cartoon Network has been going into the right direction recently, despite that they aired their last live action series (well, I hope it is their last), "The Incredible Crew" , and canceled "Young Justice" early this year. And Nickelodeon has finally begin airing more animated programs. As for comedy shows, "Modern Family", "The Big Bang Theory", "The Middle", "Last Man Standing" and "The Goldbergs" are still funny. I also got into watching "The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", even though it's decent at best, and "Almost Human" is surprisingly entertaining. The best TV show of the year is once again "The Legend of Korra". 4. For my experience this year, I went to Yosemite National Park to hike and take great pictures, I opened an Instagram account early this year, I did time lapse digital drawings and posted them to YouTube, and I'm getting close to get an Associate Degree in art. Once I get a degree, my next step is to transfer to University. | 2013-12-01 20:56:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
I am going to post my opinions on multiple matters: @RockSauron Every year seems to be the year of the movies, though looking at the horizon 2015 looks very... Interesting, with a bazillion movies coming that year. What a time to be alive, I say! If you wish you can go watch it in cinema, there is a high probability you can do so, if you have patience. @DreadRandal What you need to understand is that not everything that worked in a children's book in 1937 works in blockbuster movies of 2012-2014. Things need to change, just for the sake of keeping up with time. 75 years takes its toll on that matter. Also, I'd argue that Bilbo is not only a way stronger character than Frodo (which is not the fault of Elijah Wood) but also way different. I haven't read the book, but I have heard that many people complain about Bilbo in the movie being too "heroic" in a way. Once again, things need to be modernized once in a while so they keep the quality they once had. There is a fine line between being unhealthily clingy to something and respecting/loving source-material. Peter Jackson has proven that he respects Tolkien's work without being overly attached to it, which makes him one of the best directors working today. Besides, if you don't like the movies, you will always have the book. You could argue: "It doesn't need fixing if it ain't broken!" If so, you are completely right. However, you will still casually pump you tires so they don't break. In an ideal world, things wouldn't have to be modernized, but this isn't that world. In this world time marches on and it consumes those who don't keep up. Maybe in 50 years they will remake the LotR trilogy so it fits that time better and we will be sitting in our wheelchairs, going: "No! You can't do this, the original trilogy was perfect the way it was! What is this CGI? Stupid interactive dialogue, can't I relax watching a movie anymore? When will this hologram technology leave? It hurts my eyes! Gandalf needs to be male!" I don't know, but I do know one thing: these few coming years will be gooooood movie-wise. As much as I am dreading the fact that Star Wars is being directed by the man who directed Star Trek Into Darkness, I will at least have something to look forward to that year. ------- I do fear a bit for video games, however. For any game to earn 10/10, I have had to lower my standards greatly. In fact, there isn't a single game I could give that scoring to on 2011's standards. While movies are constantly becoming more creative and some TV series are keeping up very well with time, the same can not be said about video-games. In fact, instead of constantly evolving, video game industries are publishing buggy, unfinished games and it seems as if video games are actually devolving in gameplay while only the graphics are improving. Judging by the critical response the "next-gen" has got, I fear things will only go from bad to worse. Time will tell. (By the way, my experience does not spread to Nintendo games, such as Pok?mon or Animal Crossing. I don't know how those guys are doing their thing anymore.) | 2013-12-01 21:00:00 Author: FreeAim Posts: 2462 |
Good lord people, are your lives really so boring and uneventful that you feel you can evaluate the year with an entire month still to go before the end? Anyway. 1. What were your favorite movies this year? I've watched quite a lot of movies this year but not many that actually came out this year. Looking through the wikipedia list of 2013 films the only ones I actually thing I've watched are Hangover III and The World's End. And Monster's University. So at least one of them isn't about alcohol. I guess if those really are the only 2013 movies I've seen then I'd have to say The World's End was my favourite. Monster's University was good for nostalgia and Hangover III was pretty meh. 2. What new games did you enjoy and play this year? Similar story to the movies. I've played a lot of games this year but not many of them were actually new. I've been catching up on a lot of games I hadn't got round to buying yet. Literally the only 2013 game I can think of that I bought was Bioshock Infinite, which was pretty awesome and led to me also getting Bioshock 1 and 2. I imagine a lot of the games I play next year will be the games from this year I haven't played yet 3. What did you think of TV this year? Again, I've watched a lot of old TV this year. Apart from that, just watched the usual stuff. Meh. Doctor Who was ok but Moffat is still being an idiot. Meh. Misfits is ending, oh no. 4. What did you do this year that was fun? Fun stuff yeah! Holidays and stuff, finally finished college and started uni, which is more fun, I guess I started a lot of new projects. Some small. some huge, all unfinished. And I picked up a few old projects as well. I mean I dug up stuff I was doing 7 or 8 years ago and worked on it. I still haven't finished anything, but I'm slowly working out what I'm doing next. Some of it might be LBP related We'll see. There's a lot I want to get done next year and I'm spending the rest of this year trying to work out exactly which of my millions of projects I actually want to get done by the end of 2014. Should be a fun and interesting year. | 2013-12-02 04:56:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
1) Dunno... haven't been to the cinema much this year. I don't watch that many movies to be honest, so nothing stands out. 2) Crikey..... too many to name! GTA V, The Last of Us to name but a couple. I've also bought PS+ this year, which has allowed me to play a lot of great games, including some great indie titles which I would've missed otherwise, such as Stealth Inc, and most recently Guacamalee. 3) I don't know where DominationMags was looking, but he obviously wasn't looking hard enough. It's been a great year for TV. Breaking Bad ended on a high, Dexter finally ended. Got Was good, some good British shows as Emu has mentioned (Being Human another show that ended on a high, Misfits looks to be doing the same). Some good new shows - Banshee, Orphan Black, Orange is the New Black, The Americans, Almost Human. I've also invested in a Netflix account, so I've been rewatching BSG and watching Rome for the first time. Both very enjoyable. Plus I've also rewatch The Wire season 1 on DVD..... so yeah, I've watched a lot of TV. 4) Ermmm... nothing. My social life is pretty much non-existent. the final episode of the IT crowd. WAS SO GOOD. Thanks for reminding me... still haven't watched it yet. | 2013-12-02 09:53:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |
Thanks for reminding me... still haven't watched it yet. Oh right, I also watched the last IT crowd which was pretty awesome. C4 are doing an "IT Crowd" night on Christmas Eve so that should be good. | 2013-12-04 15:45:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Okay guys, hustle up, because this was the tv year. We got, game of thrones, which was gorgeous - almost as good as Breaking Bad which finished this year; its last season as good as ever. As much as I love Breaking Bad, and as much as I loved the ending- I hated the 5th season (A&B) It seemed to me that they tried to introduce too many new characters too soon, and like Todd, his uncle and the other... Lets call them Supremacists weren't a big part until half way through season 5B. The last episode was very Meh, again nothing wrong with the ending, but the episode lacked quite a bit. I think if they made the ending more like Team Walt vs Team Hank sorta thing with a unpredictable Team Jesse than that would of been fine- but Adding in those new characters like Todd, Lydia, the "Supremacists" is where they kinda spent too much time. I like how they kept Jesses fate a cliff hanger, and Walt's ending and final conversation with Skyler I have to saw was brilliantly done. However me and my brother made a bet that Jesse and Walt would have one last cook, then the cops came, but they took the ricen- and Thats how it ended- and when Jesse and Walt were just standing there before he got in the Car I thought they were- but when Jesse drove off I thought Walt would of finished off the Batch... he never Like I said Good ending but the season was very Meh | 2013-12-07 12:21:00 Author: Awesome_Guy Posts: 167 |
