Merge level thermo?

Sometimes for some people, the thermo gets too high, and they must resort to a level link, but what if MM made the 15MB per level mergable with a new level, so instead of having to have a link, its just a double sized level that takes up 2 level slots

No more data is added into the MM servers, and people get to be more creative, its a WIN/WIN


Please, also while you are looking MM, you should add 1/4 player sensors, not just lead, and the rest, for point/level specificity

Merge level thermo wouldn't work because only so much can be loaded at one time. The game wouldn't be able to handle loading a double sized level.at once which is why using emitters to load and unload different sections of the level within 1 level works.2013-11-29 16:11:00

The thermo is just a measure of how busy your level is. If you only emit the parts you are using at the moment and destroy them when you're finished, you can make a pretty big level using just a fraction of the thermo.
The LBP2 thermo can handle about 500kb - 800kb before overheating without emitters (enough for a decent sized platformer)
With emitters and clever logic, you can put over 10MB of data into one level. For example...
http://lbp.me/v/qn-2q21 this level is over 8000KB in size, with emitters inside of emitters. And the thermo is literally at less than 10%, and people can join while playing it without the "that player is busy" message. (we would have made it even bigger but people started complaining about the loading time)

It isn't as easy as it looks however if you need double the thermo maybe it would just be better to try to be more efficient before trying to use emitters but they are right, I managed to fit a half fitted thermo ending to a level which was all but full in my last level just by destorying and emitting what you don't use2014-04-11 03:46:00
