What Really Grinds Your Gears?

Really grinds my gears? Oh, a lot of stuff but I'm just going to list my biggest ones.

1. The ones with "swag"

Idiots use it, your kids use it, your mail man uses it, and your freaking dog uses it.
Brb, dying. In all honesty I have no idea what the word means but I do know that people who say they have "swag" usually have terrible hats that they wear side ways. I also noticed that it's usually little kids that say it because it makes them look "cool".
If you have a facebook you'll eventually come across someone who has the word in their name thinking it's "cute". They use it constantly. "Lol, I just fell down the stairs. SWAG"

It's not cool, it makes you look ridiculous.

3. Over protective fanboys/girls

I understand that most people get overprotective about their opinions/ but is it really that important to you that you have to start an argument with someone? Especially over the internet?! Ex: This SONY Vs. MICROSOFT debate. "Omg ps3 is sooooooooooo much better cuz you play free online" or "Xbox has sooooo much coool stuff, lawl, ur so wrong"

4. People who think they're smart

Lots of serious things going on in the world grind my gears, but I'll focus on a couple of less serious things.

1) Online gaming ahhh soles, particularly those who don't "play fair". Pretty much the only game I play online is Fifa, and there are too many players that abuse the flaws in the game.
Another thing this game allows you to do is to celebrate after a goal is scored. There are loads of celebrations to chose from, from your standard fistpumps, to stupid arrogant dances and the like. What really irritates me when people celebrate like a bloody lunatic when they've just scored the luckiest goal against the run of play... like they've deserved it.
All I want is a nice fair match.... is that too much to ask for?

2). Another problem which boils down to ignorant human beings, this time on public transport. One of the trains I travel on on the way back from work has two carriages, and is always packed. When getting on the train, anyone with common sense would move down the aisle as far as possible to let people on.... unfortunately a lot of people lack common sense. These are working adults BTW, not young kids, so there's no excuse. Also, when getting off the train people just stand in the way! For crying out loud, all you need to do is move off the train to let people off! It's simple!		2013-11-28 09:59:00

Layer blocking in LBP - any thing invisible material that stops sackboy changing what appear to be obviously accessible layers. It really breaks the flow for me. The worst cases are levels where sometimes the layer changing is blocked and later on it's allowed.
Solution: build your levels so the layer is out of reach or not there or make it clear using colour or lighting that it's inaccessible.

Dialogue with a jerky camera change for every new speech bubble. Very immersion-ruining.
Solution: use smooth camera transitions or non at all.

Otherwise harmless materials that suddenly burn you or gas you when you touch them - creators using them in games should make them obviously lethal with some kind of clue. I get grumpy when some benign looking sponge turn out to be a no-go area.
Solution: make it clear using colour or lighting that it's lethal.

A switch or lever that triggers a cutscene every time.
Solution: use sparingly.

A switch or cutscene that just destroys some piece of scenery with no apparent link to allow level progression.
Solution: Make the link between switch and material/object being destroy have a context or build the level so it fits the theme.

I also hate stopping at a red light and another car gets there just after you, but they slam on the brakes to stop first so they can go before you. I'm generally a very ****** off person while driving. 		2014-01-29 04:09:00

There's this guy in my class that adores hardstyle and uses Fruityloops to make awful simple average-sounding hardstyle music. He thinks he'se gonna be famous or something. You know, hardstyle music is just a small hype and it already lost it's coolness back in 2013. It won't catch on anymore.

And i also hate how everyone describes my deep chiptune-style electronic masterpieces as "super mario music". 8-BIT IS A THING YOU IDIOTS!!! And it's a mix of electronic/dance with chiptune, not only 8bit.		2014-01-29 20:39:00
