Help!!! PSN Sign-in issues (SOLVED)

Archive: 13 posts

I dunno if this is the right place to post this question, but I couldn't think where else to go. I am having trouble signing into PSN, by whifh i mean its completely impssible. I was autmatically loged out when my PSVita went to sleep the other day, but when i tried to log back in I was told my password or email was incorrect. I decided to click on the "forgotten password" button but after i put in my email and birthday a mssage popped up saying "this information cant be used". I know I havent changed my email or password recently, but anytime i tryto log in to PSN (on my Vita, my PS3 and on lbp.me on my computer) i am told my email or password is wrong.
I dont want to have to give up on ever playing online with this account again.. :/
I know some other people were having some sign in issues because of a new ToS agreement or something but i dont think this is related. The only thing i can think ofis that my account was hacked into and had the password andaccount information changed. I really hope this isnt the case because thats really irritating and there is nothing anybody could gain from controlling my account since there is no money in my wallet.

Has anybody experienced anything similar???

Sony have recently sent out Emails telling people to change their passwords. Have you done that? They do it every two years for security reasons I believe.2013-11-27 02:00:00

They do not.

Two years ago was the infamous PSN hack, and if they're resetting passwords, that most likely means there has been another incident. Mine was reset this morning as well.

I was informed wrongly then, but they ARE sending out Emails telling people to change their Emails.

This is a knowing problem by Sony and many Vita user's are having this problem.
Sony is resetting the password because they want preventing us for a brute force attack which is happen actually to many people who are using a PS Vita.
Sony is resetting the password if they detect (for example) 1000 log in try's in a minute to your PSN account.
Change your password and log into PSN again will help to solve the issue.

(Ah ^^, hard to explain this in english for me but in many german forum's, people with exactly this problem, contacted the Sony Support and get this answer.)

The email only asks us to change our passwords, not email addresses.

Yeah, the issue is that when i try and go through the password resetting process this happens:

after i put in my email and birthday a mssage popped up saying "this information cant be used"

So it's not as easy as just changing my password

This happened to other people too because they forgot the birthday... lol no, they don't forget their real birthday but at the time, they signed into PSN, they wasn't 18 years old or older and don't type in their real birthday...
Are you sure that you have used your real birthday as you created your PSN account?

Yeah Dini, my brother suggested that to me, but it wasn't that, I used my real age. I found a post on the PSN forums which said that he put in random years and suddenly one of them worked. I tried it and suddenly it worked for me too haha. Apparently Sony spent the last week or so thinking I was 5 years older than really am.

This seems to have been the case for others on the Playstation forums so perhaps when all this nonsense happened to the servers a bunch of peoples account details got messed up.

Any mods out there wanna lock this for me?
