PS4 Games RRP

Archive: 9 posts

I cannot for the life of me understand why these companies think this is okay! Current Gen is ?40 I can stand for that (still slightly expensive), I bought about 4 maybe 6 games a year at that price, and a few cheap ones too that had been out for a while (but there only ?10-?20 each). But com'on ?60? I am not paying that (I will obviously) but that means maybe 1 or 2 games a year including we have to pay for PS Plus but I already subscribe to that for the games, which is nice for the PS4 as well.

In the past 12 months I have purchased for my PS3, The Last of Us ?40 (well worth it, I would have paid ?60), Bioshock Infinite ?40 (it was okay), Metro Last Light ?40 (very good game), Grand Theft Auto ?38, Lego Harry Potter 5-7 ?10, Dishonored ?12, Aliens Colonial Marines ?15, Duke Nukem Forever ?10, Fear 2 & 3 ?20, Dead Space ?16, Prototype 1 & 2 ?26, Jak & Daxter ?15 (month later free on the PS3 & Vita, screw you Sony). That's not all of them and only retail discs, I spend a lot on the store, LBP DLC etc... Thats about ?280 on games alone, just the other day I bought the LBP2 'Night Before Christmas' DLC for ?3.99 or so... It's not even a full story DLC like the Toy Story one and you DO NOT get the Vita version either, why may I ask, Sony or Tarsier they made it. I don't know whose decision it was but I don't approve and am not happy. Complaints aside I just spend too much money to be able to pay ?60 for a game. I have better things to spend it on like Cans of Coke and Bags of Jellies.

My PS4 games list is going to be:
- Killzone Shadow Fall
- Infamous Second Son
- Fallout 4
- The Last of Us 2 and all it's sequels & prequels, and DLC's
- What ever Sony gives me for PS Plus and the Free 2 Play games

No more DLC besides Fallout 4, no more buy as many games as you can because you can. Next Gen isn't a affordable gen, besides the consoles, slightly cheaper than when PS3 and Xbox 360 first released.

If someone doesn't know what RRP stands for it means Regular Retail Price. Just writing it, some people don't know what it means.

Tearaway ?20, very cheap, Killzone Mercenary's ?30. That's what devs and publishers should be charging. Back when Battlefield 3 came out I bought it ?40, than I bought Premium also, ?40. This Gen they want ?60 for the game AND ?40 for Premium, ?100, thats a lot from the ?80 for both or even ?40 just for the original game. Goodbye Battlefield, goodbye all that EA stand for and try to sell me, I am no longer going to buy their games no matter how good they look (besides Star Wars Battlefront 3, that series is awesome but Dice will do great, therefore Electronic Arts must burn it down, melt it, freeze it and smash it then melt it again in our faces just because they can and they will because they always do, they cannot help themselves. I wanted you Battlefield 4 but EA stopped me!).

Scott. A unhappy Sony customer who disagrees with the RRP of the games and that only (and thinks that devs are getting lazy, sloppy, disrespectful towards us as the consumer, uncaring of the final product and state of condition, and other words I may not speak of).

What do you think about the price?

have prices in the UK gone up to match Australian prices? That can't be good, the US & CA will probably follow shortly if so.2013-11-22 02:51:00

Well, most have gone up to ?50 now, but I'm not buying games from now on until I really want that game, and I get the PS4 for christmas. Also yes, some games are currently ?60 on current gen.

We who live in the United Kingdom are paying 1/2 more than the Americans. Our ?60 games are $60. What the? How does that make sense?

I think it is because we as the consumer do not choose to take effect on the big corporations who steal us of our money by overcharging us for products that have nothing to do with the final product, were looking at you Dead Island 1 & 2, and Aliens Colonial Marines, a Duke Nukem and Brink.

If my memory serves me correctly, 60 GBP would be like $80-$90 USD. Australians are paying $90 per game, so it sounds like the UK and AUS are now both getting screwed.2013-11-22 04:54:00

you don't know the meaning either. It's Recommended Retail Price.

PS2 Gen was ?40 discounted to ?30
PS3 Gen Was ?50 discounted to ?40
PS4 Gen looks to be ?60 discounted to around ?50

We've aleady seen how viable the ?40 price point is in the PS3 Gen with most games going for under ?20 in 1-2 months and the same will happen to ?50 games once the next generation settles in.

Since you are using $ I am unsure whether you are talking about American or British prices. But yes some games here are ?60 on current gen.

I blame my education in school during Business Communications we were taught that it stood for Regular Retail Price, so excuse me! Anyways seems my school isn't so... Professional.

I doubt games will start getting cheaper 1 or 2 months in, probably 4 to 5 minimum but that's my opinion. Big budget games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, Grand Theft Auto and Assassins Creed remain to be expensive months after launch.

I wonder if prices will eventually go down. It is quite expensive though at the moment.2013-11-22 15:08:00
