Attract-O-Tweaker particles

Archive: 6 posts

I need some help again. This time related to what I can only assume is a glitch.
When I capture an object with an Attract-O-Tweaker on it and then place it either from my inventory or through an emitter, the particles refuse to show up. Only when I rewind or when I pick up and place the object again with my pop-it cursor do the particles show up.
This problem only started to occur, like, a couple of hours ago. I've been working with the Attract-O-Tweaker for months yet it worked fine all that time. It's really annoying because I'm using these particles for special effects in several of my levels.

So has anyone else experienced this? What started this problem, and how do I fix it? I already tried restarting my PS3, but to no avail.

PS: I already have a temporary work-around. When there already is a piece of material with a properly functioning Attract-O-Tweaker any objects placed after that will behave normally.

I suggest just undoing the level or object, if you cannot you may have to start again. I have came across this without a fix.

Oh, but it's not just 1 level/object. It's affecting every level/object I make, even on different accounts.

Probably your profile. My advice is back up your profile onto a USB or external hard drive, then delete it from the PS3 HDD. Play the game and gain the material, do what you were trying to do with it and if the glitch reoccurs you know it's probably/possibly your game. If so lend one of a friend and test theirs on a new profile and your profile, if again it happens contact Sony. It must be the console (probably, although I'm no technician so I'm just speculating). I really cannot provide a lot of information into the subject unfortunately. My apologies.

Don't forget to put your profile back onto the PS3 HDD from the back up device. Let me know the results.

Well, I already checked if the problem persisted if I switched to a different account (and thus different profile), and it did, as I said in my previous post. So I assume it's a problem with the data of the game itself (unless it's a problem with the hardware, but let's stay optimistic). Is it safe to just delete the LBP2 Game Data while leaving my profile data alone?2013-11-19 10:17:00

Deleting the game data will cause you to start again, but in Little Big Planet 2 (I say this as it was not enabled in the first game) Media Molecule let the user back-up their profile located in the game data through the 'Save Game Data' section just above the disc icon on the XMB. I think backing that up should keep you safe but I myself cannot guarantee that. If you do back it up that is your profile data, such as collected bubbles, aces. IT WILL NOT BACK-UP YOUR MOON LEVELS, that has to be done separately (hover over you level on the moon and press [SQUARE] then 'Back Up&apos. You will have to re-download all of your DLC.

Saving your profile in manual I believe little guide by someone. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=46682-How-do-I-back-up-My-LBP-2-Profile) I also think there is an option in the Little Big Planet 2 options menu near the back up button to load one again just for when you are putting it back onto the system.

Need more help or information?

Scott.
