Gah! This is one of those times when really wish I wasn't such a rubbish player because I would like very much to be able to finish this!

I enjoyed your movie intro. It was funny and touching and you set up the story well. There were lots of nice details in the museum and you made Martin an instantly likeable - and unlikely - hero .

Part 2 looked great too and being able to swap with the nymph looked like it had the potential for some very fun gameplay. I just couldn't survive long enough to explore though. I lost so much health killing the first villain that even though I collected all the available tokens, I soon got gameover. I suspect I was doing something wrong in the way I was fighting. I'm determined to come back when I'm less tired and have another go.

You've clearly put a lot of effort into this in terms of gameplay, scenery, and story etc and I don't want to miss it!

Thanks for the feedback. The difficulty is something of a concern for me. I really want to make it hard, but fun, not impossible. If any one else finds the fighting to be a hasle, please let me know. Thanks, again!2013-11-14 02:23:00

I've been waiting to see when this would finally go up because it seems to resemble so much of my own project! Anyways, I hope to be able to play by this weekend and give you some feedback; Consider it Queued!!! 2013-11-14 02:56:00

I replayed this and although I got through the first fight a lot better, I still didn't manage to progress very far.The second boss encounter did for me. I can see how much more there is to experience in the level but I just know I'm never going to make it. I would have liked to have used Belle a bit more, for example, but I died too soon.

Hopefully you'll get some more feedback from others with better skills than mine but if you want more people to appreciate all the hard work on this, I think you may need to adjust the difficulty slightly. Have you thought about making the gold coins fill up the health bar faster? Perhaps even something small like that would help. But, obviously, it's your level and I wouldn't want you to feel you were dumbing it down.

I'm sorry, dude. This feedback also is from somebody who has to bad skills to master it

The intro is absolutely lovely. So many details, such a nice story: excellent!
The second part (the gameplay part) has some brilliant ideas and looks very good.
I like Marten and the little faery (or was it a nymph?) a lot.

Although I wasn't able to finish it, I really like your level!
You did a fantastic job!
Excellent!!!!

First, let me say, "I LOVE THIS LEVEL!!!!"

It says BETA so I assume you want input. I think you are on your way to another Team Pick... with a little polish. The level is great the way it is, but I will give you my opinions and tell you what I had trouble with.

Like the others before me, I could not finish. There are so many good things going on here. I agree with everything shropshirelass said. I tried 4 times. The fire pit got me twice. And the part where you release the guys from the cages got me the other times. Everything looks so cool. The nymph is a great idea! (although the first time I got to the cages I sent her up to pull the levers, released the demon and then I couldn't get up the ladder without him setting me on fire.) I like that enemies only take a few or one good hit to dispatch! (that keeps the game flowing. I could block projectiles but I don't think I was blocking sword attacks?) The coins recharging health is good, but the 3rd and 4th time I played no coins came out of the two chests I made it to. The jump is the biggest thing, it feels like I'm floating. I think you need to decelerate faster or up the power of the mover but for a shorter time and then let gravity take over. The wall where the platforms move in and out was a bit frustrating because the jump seemed slow and because I'm not the best player. I'm also a slow reader and missed the end of a few speech bubbles. One death and you're done will make the serious gamers happy, but the average gamer is doomed at that first fire pit. It got me twice.

Please don't take this as harsh criticism. I loved the level and truly believe it is something special.

Thanks for the input! I've already adjusted the health so Martin can take more hits so hopefully that will help. Great suggestions all of you. I'll work on the jumping too. The part with the demon/dragon, I never thought that the levers would be pulled before Martin makes it up the ladder. Thanks for catching that. I'll update once I have another updated level published.2013-11-25 01:30:00
