For me it's probably just the customization of it all. It's so streamlined and easy to use. | 2008-08-18 18:52:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |

Good question. I guess I was first interested because it was a ps3 exclusive. Then I dove in further and saw just how fun it looks. It's been awhile since we've seen a great platformer. Add in the customization, and I was a happy customer. | 2008-08-18 19:17:00 Author: bbroman ![]() Posts: 1374 |
I'm very creative yet when it comes to most things computer related i'm a complete gimp. This game will give me the tools to make all the crazy things that bubble around in my head with a very simple interface. | 2008-08-18 19:50:00 Author: LittleBigChav ![]() Posts: 175 |
The ability to play, create and share makes it an awesome game, and that's why I want it. | 2008-08-18 19:57:00 Author: StrikerBack ![]() Posts: 103 |
Creation is the biggest draw, despite the fact i'm not very creative. w | 2008-08-18 20:12:00 Author: marmiteman ![]() Posts: 124 |
The editor. Let's be honest, that's the whole point of this game. | 2008-08-18 20:31:00 Author: Linque ![]() Posts: 607 |
the ability to make levels and machines is the best bit for me. | 2008-08-18 21:23:00 Author: Don Vhalt ![]() Posts: 2270 |
The editor. Let's be honest, that's the whole point of this game. I don't think I'd call it the whole point of the game. No one would play, then. I mean, for me, I'll play more than create. But I'll have an endless supply of levels. | 2008-08-18 23:30:00 Author: bbroman ![]() Posts: 1374 |
bbroman, I meant the fact that there actually is an editor. That there is the endless stream of content. If there was no editor, I doubt you as a player would be as interested in this game. It would just be yet another platformer. | 2008-08-18 23:38:00 Author: Linque ![]() Posts: 607 |

The creativity of it all, the community that will grow from this, and the very fresh change of pace from my first/third person shooter addiction. Finally something I can create with and have others enjoy. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that other guy enjoyed the headshot I sent his way but not as much as me. I have the feeling in LBP will be far more entertaining than blowing stuff up. ![]() If I had to choose one, the Creation aspect. | 2008-08-19 02:20:00 Author: docpac ![]() Posts: 601 |
The cuteness of the sackboy, along with ability to goof around and create things. | 2008-08-19 02:35:00 Author: Code1337 ![]() Posts: 3476 |
I'm a CG animator by trade and I find it frustrating as HELL that in order to get anything to move in CG you have to model, texture, rig, animate and then render it. LBP's modeling tools are simple enough because of their 2D cut out nature to allow me to just build and have fun without having to think about whether the model will deform properly. Then comes the texture part, it's all done for me, I just choose a material and whatever I create looks like the material chosen. Any animation seems to be set by gears and pullies so I don't have to keyframe every single new frame to make something move. And finally it's all realtime on t.v. so I don't have to spend days or weeks rendering something just so people can see it. What I'm trying to say is that it's easy to sit down, have some fun, try creating some designs and then put it down and come back to it later. Alternatively I could obsess over it for days if I want to without having to worry about all the mediocre parts of game design that usually come with developement. | 2008-08-19 14:01:00 Author: Robinhood ![]() Posts: 79 |
