Painting A Path

Archive: 12 posts

I actually forgot to post this a few days ago. It's a platformer.

I'm going to be honest, I found it on my moon, it was near complete from a few months back so I finished it. The I tried to stupidly implement my DABS Alpha gadget incomplete and did so, and due to this the level got some real bad feedback but it doesn't actually change the gameplay but make it easier as you play. Here's the systems thread after it was completed, DABS Version 1.0.4 Beta. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=82414-DABS-A-Gadget-To-Increase-Decrease-Difficulty)

Then I saw I had custom made points, each took up about 2% of the thermometer. Then I hit the top, couldn't add anything else, it's short and less detail as you go on due to this. The level is a mess closer to the end, as I had to optimize it to be as low demanding as possible.

As bad as it is, it'll be worth a play, to teach you wait until you finished something before adding it into your level.

Just to note, I deleted every level on my moon after publishing this level thinking I was unhappy with them all, then realized I deleted some near finished projects that were pretty good in my opinion. Meaning I had to start again, with everything. Although they do look better. Not sure why I wrote this but just, maybe to inform people. And all future levels will feature DABS from here on out, the complete working version that actually lets the difficulty increase unlike in the Alpha Version.

Scott.

I was playing the level and enjoying it pretty well, until I got to this spot here. It's a difficult section and I died numerous times and then finally, the platforms just quit respawning for me.

Hi biorouge.

I do apologize, I'll fix the emitter that spawns the platform. Playing it again should solve the problem. And thanks for playing, I'll update it in the next hour

I also got stuck in the same place as Bio. I had difficulty in working out what to do fully and died a few times, then the platforms disappeared.

Up until that point I was liking the idea and aesthetics of the level, although I'm not a fan of having aim and shoot of the same side of the control pad.

Hello Mr_Fusion.

Thanks for the play and feedback on the section of the level, I thought that I re-published it to my moon. I backed-up the level but I didn't publish, I'll do so as soon as I have access to my console.

Your 'Back To The Future' level(s) looks great, I queued them.

This level is pretty awesome, I actually have never played one that I had to shoot like this so it is new to me lol. It is kinda hard for me with the aim and fire on the same side of the controller and trying to jump and aim at the same time...but I think I will get the hang of it. ( I review as I play obviously). There are some tough parts for sure but thats cool because its like a puzzle kinda thing and challenging is good. The little signs are a nice touch. I am stuck at a certain point. Dont know how to take a pic since I am a sackbot...okay well its camera angle is zoomed in so I cant see much. I am in a place that i was just thrown into quick.. its a straight shaft i can see a few spikes, cant move in layers and Ive shot in all directions and nothing has happened....
Its a really great clean looking level visually, the idea is really awesome, maybe if you can add a way to suicide yourself...when you get stuck..that would help.
I have recently added my level Waking up to Adventure. (in my signature) made for young kids so if you get a chance to play, let me know if there are parts where the level has any holes or issues

Thanks for playing. And for your comment. Okay so, I'm going to change the aiming from 'hold R2 then aim with R3 and shoot with R1' to 'aim with R3 and shoot with R1' one small step to fix, but I still know these controls are challenging so what do you advice?

You can take a screenshot by pressing pause the under the 'Resume Game' button there will be a small icon with 3 lines and a box with a hole (supposedly a camera), this is you whole screen picture taker thing majig.

Oh and the suicide part, I'll let the user hold [circle] to kill themselves.

This will be out by the end of the day. And I have added it to my queue, the pictures on LBP.Me look great...

Ill wait till tomorrow and replay your level and let you know how it goes.
