btw I think some people have been having trouble finding it. Just text search my PSN, and select my other level and choose "Find more by this user" you should see it then. I only have 2 levels, so it should be easy to find 2009-01-30 16:35:00

Alrighty I gave it a go:

Pros

-You really captured the feeling of the movies. I was pondering on how to make a level like this pre-MSG pack, and I'm glad you did a nice job of it.

- The platforming was hard but not impossible so great job.

-The dialogue was really well done on the sackpeople within the cube.

- The level looks really good. It's all VR for the most part but it really works.

- The display screen at the ending was awesome. Little details like this really make the level worthwhile.

Cons/Suggestions

- The part after you meet all those sackpeople and there is that piston/sponge with the gas around it. Getting back to the cube section below that is really awkward. You can fall down to the sponge but then you have to maneouver it really awkwardly, especially considering the small amount of room you have with the gas there. Maybe make the section at the bottom (where the sponge is) a little wider so people can freefall down to it and get to the checkpoint below it without fiddling around. I hope you know what I mean (kind of hard to explain).

- It was too short. You had 5-6 cubes and then the un-spectacular ending. It was really, really good but you cut it off too short. Maybe this is a thermo problem?

- You need a scoring system in place. Maybe a race and if the timer runs out the entire level is filled with red gas and you cannot finish. Make it a long timer of course, but it definitely needs a scoring system or there is no replay-value.

- As mentioned, the ending is kind of weak. I know it's somewhat true to the movies, but I would have had a section where you can see a bunch of people "betting" on who is going to make it out of the cube alive. Then you break into their conference room and kill them all. haha I thought that was the real charm in the movies.

- While your rooms are really well done and there is a challenge there, you need a room that REALLY feels like the Cube movie. Like certain death. Spikes closing in on you while you rush to the exit or something. I think the room with the lights shooting lasers if you tripped them was a really nice Cube-esque section though.

Altogether a really nice level. I gave it 4/5 stars and with some improvements I think it's a 5 star/heart level. Good show man!

Thanks for reviewing it!

Well the reason it was somewhat short was because I did fill the entire thermo meter haha, and that's why I couldn't make any more complex rooms, or a more intense ending.

I do have plans to make a race activated by a sticker switch. And you will get the sticker at the end of the level on the first play through, to give it some more replay.

And about that red gas room. My intent was just to have you leave the sack people room, swing on the 2 sponge things, then just drop down the hole, not grabbing onto the piston sponge, just landing on it then jumping off into the foreground. But I will make the drop wider if it's going to cause problems.

I wanted to make a continuation of it to. which i will, if it gets enough plays and enough people like it.

Thank you a bunch though! I appreciate all the feedback and I will try and improve it!

If you want to make a continuation then you shouldn't have the sackperson actually escape the cube. Simply make the person "think" they've escaped and then have them trapped at the end instead

Yeah I know you want people to drop down after swinging down, but I couldn't fit in between the sponge and the wall so I had to fiddle with it a lot. This might account for a large amount of people playing and only 3 or so finishing (since I last played).

Ideas going through my head

- Nice start, and nice use of lights here as well.

- Another sticker switch user, good to know, always adds replayability and that's never a bad thing.

- Woah, the blue room is awesome. I can already tell that you do great with lighting and stuff...

Positive

- Like I said, the rooms are awesome, and your use of lighting is great. Bravo, I applaud you for that.

- Omg, all your rooms are awesome, good job, with the red room and the color code *writes it down on paper*

- The room with the lights, which I didn't get at first, is really nice, hard but not impossible. Which is a good thing.

- The red room, with fire, is a bit hard, but once again, passable, good job.

- Ohhh, someone was watching us, creepy... But yeah those computers looked awesome, nice detail.

Suggestions/Feedback

- The level would be ten times awesomer, if you made it a race level, it would add replayability and a scoring system.

- Like Neverynnal stated, it's a bit hard to fall down, after the color code section, you have to do a really good accurate jump, and it might be hard for some.

- I died at the blue room, with the lights... What are you suppose to do? Didn't quite get it... (Got it the second time, nevermind...)

- The ending, where you see the scoreboard, it's really plain, I thought something was going to happen, you broke my dreams.

Overall

Great level, the difficulty is up there, which I always like, but it's not impossible, and it's fair. Good level, 5 Stars, but no heart. It was too short for me, maybe because of the thermometer, and it didn't have much platforming, other than a few cubes, it felt more like a story, maybe this is an opening to a sequel? If so, can't wait to see the next level, and if so, PM me when it's done. I'll be glad to play that one, and maybe heart it?
