I was going to say that the app finally came out about 9 days ago but this website was out for some reason.

Here is my review about the app.

The game 'Before the Nexus' was a addicting game to play on phones or tablets. It may be an endless runner but it is very unique compared to the other endless 3D runners. I think what brings me into this game the most is the content of the game. What I mean by that is how similar the weapons and gadgets work in this compared to the future and A4O game(s). Most of the weapons work exactly like they did in the future series except for the Predator Launcher and RYNOm.

Predator Launcher feels more like a classic rocket launcher than a multiple heat seeking missile launcher. RYNOm is the RYNO V except you don't hold the trigger and waste thousands of rockets, instead you just tap and launches a few missiles and kills everything that is currently on the screen. You don't even have to aim at the enemies, just a single tap and they're dead. Also you only have 25 shots for RYNOm.

Most gadgets do the same like they did from previous titles, there are a couple of new ones. Some gadgets are basically weapons from the future series but you can only use them if you collect the specific gadget. Both Tornado Launcher and Rift Inducer are weapons from the future series but are gadgets in this game. Returning gadgets from A4O return like Reflector and Jetpack, both do a similar job like they do on A4O. Of course the groovitron returns and it is obviously the same gadget ever since TOD. 2 new gadgets are the Armor Magnetizer and Bolt Multiplier. Armor Magnetizer attracts bolts. It is the 'Bolt Grabber' for the game if you can say that. and Bolt Multiplier is like the additional enhanced Bolt Multiplier you get in challenge mode.

Both Weapons and Gadgets can be upgraded but they will cost you bolts.

Armor returns as well. Light armor is the returning ACIT armor. Heavy armor is 'UNKNOWN' because I skipped that armor and went on the next armor. Nexus armor is the best armor you could get in ITN that's not from challenge mode. You even have a choice to customize Ratchet when using armor. You get to choose the color of the armor from blue, green, and red.

Skill points return but they are basically objectives you could do if you want to earn more bolts. Another thing you can do while playing is collecting terachnoids. If you collect 10, you get the RYNOm which isn't very hard to get. Hero bolts from A4O return and this time they are used as continues if you want to play further in the level if you died.

Now about the raritanium, how rare is it in this game? Well, playing through this game I think it is slightly more rare in this game than it is in ITN. However there is a easier way to get raritanium, which I'll talk about it later. There are 3 ways to collect raritanium. They are scattered somewhere around the field but they are VERY rare and more rare than the terachnoids. Another way is to defeat neftin and vendra. You will not beat them in the first few times, instead you will be upgrading and buying stronger weapons before you can even defeat them before they run away. Once you finally get a chance to defeat them, 1 raritanium will appear when you are about to go back to the grind rails. The final way is to simply buy them with bolts. They are not cheap though. Syncing raritanium seems to work with some people but others not so much.

You can buy bolts but it's better to play it fair in my opinion.

Now since we got through everything about the weapons, gadgets, armor, and raritanium. It's time to talk about the game and graphics.

The graphics of this game may be the worse in the franchise (Including FFA Vita and PSP R&C games), but it isn't bad. It still looks nice and colorful. Some effects could had some more work done but I'm not complaining.

The gameplay of this is very unique. It is different to the franchise and it is also different to many endless runners. The grind rail part of the game feels like you are playing a real R&C game...if you were on grind rails of course. The grind rails is just very similar to what it is on other games but you do get more stuff thrown at you obviously and will dodge more and more as you progress further. The hoverboot part feels similar to Sonic Dash but with shooting and gadgets that somehow makes it very different to Sonic Dash....You get the point. Shooting is fun but when you start the game for the first time, you'll want other weapons to use because a Constructo Pistol V1 blasting like 10 enemies on the screen is very hard to keep track. The controls did seem a little strange at first because you are used to other endless runners but I picked it better in the next run. Weapons and Gadgets have been made to fit so well with a game like this and is satisfying that they work a lot like they originally do.

The story or well...the cutscene in the beginning is very basic but it does explain why you would be doing this.

If I had to make any suggestions about the game is to have leaderboards, change the bolt color back to it's original (Although the color it is now is from GC/UYA/DL), and have ammo boxes that would give you a few more shots.

I would say that if you are a fan of R&C or just like endless runners, then try Before the Nexus. It is free so there is no reason to not play this game. It is also a nice addition for Into the Nexus to get more raritanium if you don't have much already.

Oh and also there has been problems for people with lower Ipod generations including the 4th gen. If you have an Ipod 4th-2nd gen, you'll experience either Crashing and you can't play it at all, or runs horribly. Current gen works smoothly I heard. This can also happen to some android devices so watch out.
