I need some beta testers. Anyone is more than welcome to participate =]

I'm only done with part 1 of the level (which pretty much just serves as the tutorial to introduce the fairly simple mechanics I have set in place) but I would really like some feedback here. Anything to help. It's fine if you can't think of anything super constructive; I just mostly need to know if you get stuck or confused on any part, whether it is for the slightest time or not so I can try to adjust accordingly. I have a lot of my RL friends play it and they always seem to get stuck at the most simple things (Or the parts I think are simple). That could be because they don't have the LBP instinct though.

Anyway, any kind of feedback is appreciated. Seriously, it could be the pettiest thing. What is petty for you may be a problem for others and I would like people to at least get past the tutorial =]

Oh and the pictures make the level look wayy darker than it really is, but if you do find it to be too dark than please tell. Also I'd like to know if you come across any noticeable slowdown. Thanks

ok here is what I got so far -

Add these windows more often

under the 1st set of stairs there is a hole to the right

Stairs are the bane of lbp and kill flow, make these stairs thin layer/sticker panel/ or non collision and actually make it a ramp, but looks like stairs, you follow?

For added effect, here is a suggestion. Have it to where when someone is detected under the spotlight the screen flashes red and black and then turns pure black while a siren is going off. while it is pure black a sticker panel with a follower and a deadly effect activator on it turns on and goes straight to the player. have it turn off when no players are left and at that time the lights will turn back on and the player will be at the save gate. instead of an arrow pointing down, instead have the R1 symbol, that down arrow is confusing

Make bubbles in sets of 5 or more, players love seeing X2 pop up on their screen, sorry for the pic, I grabbed all 4 bubbles and then took the pic

If you dig the spotlight logic of the sackbots in that level I linked, just let me know and I can give it out as a prize. you cant transport it to vita, but you can recreate the logic on the vita for your level. its not a problem, I am currently making Ordinary Joe 6 and using a varied version of these, but you can have one if you want. Just add me on psn and make sure to note in the friend request about this thread. I get a lot of random friend requests.

-I do love the windows and I would have added them more, it's just that I made them to fit a fancy hotel/apartement room, and they don't really go with the rest of the aesthetic. I'll make an effort to add in more in part two though. How i'm envisioning it now, they wouldn't fit part three.

-O.o not sure how I missed that hole. I knew my over dephysicalizing would come back to bite me somehow.

-I agree with the stairs. I did always think they were a bit clunky and killed the flow. I think I understand what you're suggesting, but do you have an example of that being used in another level so I know for sure?

-I have you're level Queued and I'll check it out tonight. I'll see if I can get it in, but I'm a little paranoid about adding too much more to the level because it's on the verge of having noticeable slowdown.

-Are you sure the arrow was pointing down? I'm pretty sure it was up. Either way, the R1 symbol sounds like a better idea to me anyway so i'll probably use it.

-I added the bubbles at the very end. Although I wanted bubbles from the start, I kinda half did things with them because again, I was paranoid about slowdown lol. I'll put in more bubbles in general and see how it plays out tonight though.

-The only reason I left that wall so blank was because of... Well.... My slowdown paranoia again. That does look like a great place to add those windows though. So this is what i'll do. I'll put a bunch of destroyers on the bigger objects so as you go through the level, some of the stuff will be disappearing behind you so that it will play a little smoother at the later parts. I mean, the slowdown is no were near bad enough to make it unplayable or anything, but I do notice a small amount. But most importantly, I can add in those windows without worrying about that. I know it seems like a little much, but the level had much more slowdown (still not as much as my previous level though) before I went back and dephysicalized things.

EDIT:

the only thing i managed to find other than what had already been mentioned:

if you jump on the bounce pads on wheels which you find under the stairs right at the beginning you can jump up to a little space underneath the locked door. I couldnt kill myself or fall out of the level but i thought you might wanna know about



and let me just say that i found the level really cool, the visuals were spot on and gameplay was pretty fun even though it was simple and not very long. The only thing i would say is that at some points it was maybe a bit too dark, but mostly i could see everything very well. Well done, i cant wait to play the whole series

I've barely started part 3, but that's because I'm doing a project on LBP for my class. I'll probably be done with it sometime next week, but until then,I'd really like to have at least a few people test part two... I've gotten no one so far =[2013-11-12 01:35:00
