Holan Wars part 2: Fort Plasma(pics asap)

Level name: Holan Wars Part 2: Fort Plasma

Description: ok so I've finally released part 2 pf my Holan Wars series(please play the 1st one before doing this one), and I think it turned out pretty well! I put in around 60+ hours on this one and I tried to fix anything that I did bad in my 1st level. and here's my official description: Now you are inside the mighty fortress of the Neptune Crew, your mission? Stop the captain before he can build his super weapon. But beware this place has state of the art security and a mech guarding. Have fun and good luck!

Features:
Longer level(around 5 minutes breezing through)
less speech bubbles
mixture of shooting and platforming
a mechanized boss battle
more of the story
new characters
and more...

so come check it out! heart if you like, and I'll do 15 F4F at the most probably, i need at least one review so i got an outline on what 2 fix, please and thanks

Ok here we go:

Pro's:
+ same clean design
+ Good shooting section, especially the section with the tower and stairs
+ another nice boss
+ those cannons are great

Cons:
- Rather easy
- Bit short
- boss is way to easy

I loved it as much as the last one, except there are a few points (mainly on the boss)

you can defeat him by walking to the edge of the platform and jumping between layers, this can be used to defeat both forms - making him rather easy

possibly the wide camera angle for him could kick in a little sooner? It's very hard to dodge missiles if you die when you cant see them

Once again though I enjoyed it, I would suggest spicing the boss battle up a bit though

- as for F4F (If you want to do it) I remember reviewing the original of this when I released HEIST 1, now we seem to have released sequals at the same time , could you take a look at HEIST 2? (in my sig)

You dont have to if you dont want to though, I wont force it upon you

Pro's:

it didn't start off that easy, I gradually made it easier though because everyone that couldn't beat it kept tagging my level as annoying, so when i made it easier the annoying tag slowly changed 2 brilliant, but yeah i was thinking the same thing on our levels being released around the same time, and i will definetly give urs a try when i can

Ideas going through my head:

- Part 1 was awesome, by the way, I really liked the transition from part 1 to part 2, and how you get a sneak peak of the "secret weapon" ( I think? ) at the end of part 1. Anyways.

- Wow, this lighting is amazing, bravo, it actually feels electrifying ( horrible pun )

- Nice sound effects all across the level, makes it feel so futuristic you don't even know. ( Or maybe you do? )

- Haha, good dialogue in this one, funny yet informative of what's going on.

- Once again, you have that clean, futuristic thing going on, I really like it. Well done.

The Pros

- Once again, the lighting in your levels is amazing, you truly know how to work the color blue

- Good choice of music, you know when to change the music perfectly, ( upbeat music for those upbeat sections, sneaky music for sneaky sections, etc... ) Good job!

- I like the use of the paintanator, and the monsters are not so hard, I hate it when creators have you constantly shooting at a enemy for about 9001 shots just to pass by.

- Omg the boss is amazing, very well done, he looks like a half scorpion weird amazing robot thingy.

- Wow... That artillery strike, very nice touch. I also like how he switches from using a gazillion plasma balls, to missiles, adds some diversity which is always good.

- Dude, amazing cannon. Bravo on that design!

- Nice ending, I seriously want you to PM me when part 3 is out, I love the story line in this series, I don't know why but something about using the paintanator and fighting futuristic robots appeals to me.


Suggestions/Feedback

- At the stairs section, There seems to be a section with missing stairs, you can't really see it but it's towards the end of the first set of stairs, I fell off three times and it's annoying because you can't see it...

- Some of those spinning things that shoot at you are easy to kill, you can go behind them at some points, might want to check that out, unless you want it like that.

- When you reach the boss, I kept auto switching layers when it came to the missile part, I have no idea why, it's possible that the game things the sheild is blocking my path, and it was getting annoying because I would constantly be shooting at his face, only to notice I was on the wrong layer.

- Ok, while staying on the subject of the boss. Try getting him to move a little, so you can have a bit of a bigger random effect going on, he just seems lifeless being stationary like that, use this tip for part 3 ( Unless you're already done, which I say "WHERE IS IT!?!?!?"

- You might want to add some replay value? Have some hidden spots, maybe add some score/prize bubles because I don't think there were any. It's up to you really...

Overall

I really, really, really like this series. Like stated above, I have no idea why but it appeals to me, make sure to tell me when part 3 is out, I expect to see a huge boss, don't let me down! 5 Stars and Hearted!

hey thanks 4 the review! I felt I had to use the cannon this time, I had a thread in the idea section about it and i decided to make it a reality

the boss i know sucks that it doesn't move but the next one will 4 sure , and I will definetly pm you when part 3 comes out

Good job on the level. Looks dark moody and neon. THe gun turrets work well. The amount of continues on the boss scared me at first. I did manage to use up most of them on the secound stage of the boss. Those missliles must be homing Killing the boss at the end is cool. 4* hearted.2009-01-30 14:45:00
