Can't reduce the heat

Archive: 11 posts

It seems like this would be a problem addressed already, but I can't find much about it. I'd been wanting to create some kind of cloud-scape atmosphere, so I made a nice canyonesque landscape, then went willy-nilly and covered it in clouds. Some with look-at motors set to scenery so I can drive through them, and a fun multi-jump pad path that takes you up to a cloud path, then back down to the track. I was just about at the point of adding power-ups and publishing, but I've maxed out the thermometers, and I can't seem to get it to go back down. I've deleted an embarrassing number of clouds and motors, but it won't go back down to where it was when I had twice as much as I have now. I don't quite understand how I can't add one more thing without deleting nearly everything I've got. Anyone?2013-10-04 03:50:00

Try to delete all the barrier on the side of the road. There may are useless and take hudge part of the thermo.2013-10-04 21:45:00

I'll try that, thanks. There's a lot of twists and turns, though. That will definitely make it harder to stay on the track.2013-10-04 22:42:00

its a glitch, it happens to me when i record music with my pic, if i pick up the character the mouth the meter goes up, what i usaully do if it does this is exit the level and come back, usually that works other times I just go to play mode and it usually resets the thermometer to where it was prior.2013-10-05 02:00:00

Got it back down! Thanks for all your help. I had to get rid of a lot and redo things a little differently. I'm hoping there's enough room at the end to put the railings back. They're kind of essential.2013-10-13 15:51:00

Roads and fences that contain many object (like the wooden bridge with small gaps, or the fences with multiple wooden struts) will take up more thermo as they cost more polygons (and other stuff)
the same can me sorta said with roads/fences that have transparant glasses.

Just finished it! My time has been largely taken up lately by less important things like work and survival, but I just published it under the name "Obscured by Clouds". Not sure how to get play on it though. The one I did over a year ago on LBP still only has 15 players and none completed for some reason. I don't think it's THAT hard, but it's my level, so I can't tell. No one leaves feedback.2014-01-21 18:32:00

I take more time to release my track that i planed too. Exemple i said i'll published my new track the 8th of january. I'm still building it but work is in good progress.

By the way i don't find your first track on lbpk? ( the one with 15 player). Did you erase it?

They always take longer than you think. Most of my building time is spent trying to figure out why one gadget or another isn't working the way it's suposed to. Right now I'm trying to make a seeking self-weaponized rocket piranah for an underwater battle level where everyone's cart is a fish. Not going so well.
The other level you were asking about is on LBP1, not karting. Finishing it was a grand accomplishment, but a hollow one.
