Game Save Data error!!

Archive: 10 posts

I just booted up LBP and i get this message...

46977

If you cant read that it says:

"Save game is from a newer update. Please quit the game and make sure you have the latest updates installed. If you continue we will delete your existing save and create a new one."

Well i dont want to have all my data deleted!! Why has this happened, I havent installed an update for a ges, and I have been playing offline for the last week or so...

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yep but without that kind of text

Dunno why this happen but I guess that the PSVita cause it. Why? well maybe because you turn of the screen, let it be a while, prosessor and ram memory are confused, they don't know what they are doing and then you updated LBPV and there you have! The annoying save data error bug.

The annoying thing is, I havent updated it for ages, not since the last update which i downloaded immediately so how can it think i have a more recent version of the game? especially since i was playing with it totally successfully the day before.... annoying. Apparently this has only happened to a small handful of people, and we have all had to accept that we wont get our stuff back. All my levels on my moon were lost, but luckily i dont have to play through the whole story again, and Im making sure to back all my levels in progress up on my moon just in case it strikes again.
According to somebody on the old getsatisfaction page, by the time you see the message about deleting your save it is already gone, so you dont have a choice about it in the end haha. :/

thanks for posting this, been putting off backing up my file for a bit now, ill make sure to back it up tonight for sure. thanks if possible edit your title to include (RESOLVED) at the end.

even though u didnt get your stuff back, sorry for that, but for the most part atleast u were able to help spread the message and to further pound it into our heads that regurlarly backing up our profiles is a must.

This same error happened to me. Day before the game worked well but the day after this came and for no reason, i was really frustrated until today i decided to pick the delete option. Every thing is back to normal exept it deleted all my objects and all my levels from the moon. It was really annoying because i had almost finished my latest level what i had been working on for like 4 months. Nothing seemed to help with the error.2013-10-11 23:44:00

Yeah youre right L-I-M-I at least if i can help people to save their data by backing it up regularly than something good can come out of this hassle.

Himoks, thats sad to hear another person has been affected by this bug, from what i found on the web it sounded like this was a really rare occurence. Luckily most of my hardwork was in the form of pieces of logic and individual contraptions so ive rebuilt almost all of the stuff i actually was gonna use in levels by now. Still its a bummer to just lose all your stuff like that, it feels like all the hours ive put in have been stolen

L-I-M-I, you can also backup your data by connecting the PSVita to a computer and using the "Content Manager Assistant" to copy all your game save data to the computer and back again when you need it. Or just publishing your levels as sub levels (so nobody can see them) is basically like having them backed up on the Sony servers.2013-10-23 19:17:00
