Question: How do you make a code lock?

Archive: 8 posts

Hey guys. I love engineering things on LBP2 but the one thing I have trouble making is a code lock with the controlinator. Like if you wanted to enter, you have to enter a correct series of buttons EX: Square, Circle, Circle, Triangle. Does anyone know how to do that?2013-09-26 22:10:00

I wrote out a basic controlinator access code logic set. you can make it as simple or as complex as you want, adding buttons to the sequence, confirmation add-ons like sound and visuals, but this is just the basics, as it is on pencil and paper.

essentially, you hook as many or as few buttons up to a series of selectors on a series of chips. Each correct button both activates the next sequence and a final and gate. You can either have incorrect presses restart the sequence or reset at the end of the sequence. The final correct sequence ends up activating an and gate that you can use to access your level. You can also have a counter that dumps a set number of incorrect tries to the level exit.

I will post the pic when I get a chance.

Well, now that Breaking Bad is over and I'm focused on LBP again, you can send me a friend request on PlayStation Network. the decoder is mostly complete except I'm having a reset issue. I have to insert a counter or timer somewhere. I just have to figure out where.

to avoid a lot of wire clutter and tedious labeling of tags and sensors, the main controlinator is a transmitter and each code point has it's own receiver controlinator. Also, I utilized the D-pad, /, X, O, [ ] and the shoulder buttons, allowing for a 12 base code. You could add the analog sticks, L3 and the tilt axis, but that just feels overblown. You can make the code as long or short as you want, all you have to do is add more links to the "chain".

I'm still going to finish this and you are still welcome to it if you feel like friend requesting. I plan on posting the code in my pod for friends to see and in my profile here on LBPCentral.2013-09-30 23:11:00
