Another Reset Problem

Archive: 3 posts

hello,

I'm pretty close to publishing my level, just have some minor decorating and tweaking to do. There is a problem I'm having that, while not level breaking, is fairly annoying. I have a stretch of straight track starting a bit before the start line and a good ways after before the first turn. When reset in this straight section, it always seems to pull you all the way to right before the first turn, even if you're before the start line. I have an object running along as my customized track layout, and the real track is a bridge just under the object (out of view). The whole track is like this and most of it works fine, just this section. I have tried to run a breadcrumb over this section, but it did nothing. I didn't want to do a reset regulation, as I already have a large handful of those. Don't know if it's of consequence, but at the end of the straight section, the track turns 270 degrees and jumps over itself (don't see why it would be) with a "no reset zone" on the empty jump space, at the very end of the straight section.

If there's any ideas out there, that'll be great. As I said, I don't think it's level breaking, just an annoyance for the creator (probably won't notice it much just racing), and will be publishing this week regardless of a fix.

If you'll bear with me, I'm curious to see what happens when you do this:

1. Hit start, select settings or options (can't remember which one).
2. Check the "draw navigational map" option in the menu.
3. Examine that section of track you mentioned.

What does it look like? The green coloration determines what the game feels (which is almost never what you want it to be) is part of the track, so I'm betting that somehow, that section is not green. If so, the game engine feels its not a valid place to drive, and therefore not a good place to spawn.

I checked it out and it's green all on the track. So then I'm really confused about this now.
