Mikey-Flies is a mechanical wizard in LBP and the guy is just full of clever ideas. He has 3 full-length levels: Sackbeard's Treasure, which is the best pirate level I've played. Stranded - An Alpine Adventure, which is the best mountain level I've played. and he's just published his new one, Relics of Yahgmi. Shortly put, it's incredible. You explore the ruins of an ancient volcanic mountain harboring some mystical energy. I don't want to spoil anything, but there are some cool new ideas at work, and by far the most realistic lightning effect I've seen. The guy as a knack for polish - the level leads you where you need to go, and it's usually very hard to break or glitch the level. The gameplay is tested and re-tested many times. It's a tight ship. Check it out, and definitely try to find all the secrets! i played this tonight with Vmethos and Catiers, and we really loved it. The lightning was the best I'd ever seen, and I loved the Tesla coil thing. My favorite part of the level was definitely the skeleton though. Nice use of the top of the candle, too. ^_^ Mikey Flies is rad.

Very fun level... I'm not really impressed with the lightening effects, because of it's blocky geometry, but more how he used them as obstacles in the level and got them to stay present for such a time without collision. It's just awesomely done. The flame he made for dragon breath and volcanic eruption is fantastic. The lava pours, the tiny details, the originality of the obstacles, and the general pacing of this level is great. There's alot of epic and fun in it, and I think OCK would definitely enjoy seeing the dragon ride in this game. What I like most is his hidden checkpoints False Idols 0, in my biased opinion, has much better lightning.

There's alot of epic and fun in it, and I think OCK would definitely enjoy seeing the dragon ride in this game. lol, I am one step ahead of you my friend. I actually played this last night and really enjoyed it. I was most impressed with the fire-ball effect, very cool. The dragon ride was great and the volcanoes were a nice design element as well. All-in-all a very fun level.

Yeah that spelling was unfortunately pointed out AFTER I had named, published, and advertised the level. It wasn't intentional so I hope no one is offended by it. I simply attempted to come up with a unique name. With that out of the way... Thanks for the great comments! I had a lot of fun playing with the lighting and lightning in the level (surprisingly the lightning was very simple to put in place but the lighting took some time and fiddling and in the end I think it is overkill for the effect it gives as I used a *Lot* of pseudo randomized flickering controllers throughout the level). The skeleton I like and had originally had him sitting down below in the the "testing" area of the level but decided I should include him as the effect more or less worked out. I'm glad you found him/it interesting as well

i wasn't offended by the name at all. I kinda figured it wasn't intentionally done because you would have spelled it "ghey" most likely if it had been done on purpose. ^_^ I would have never even noticed it had my husband not pointed it out in the first place.

Played it, loved it! Sorry I can't be more technical than that Mikey, but it was a funky, colourful & very enjoyable level. 5 Stars from me

I just wanted to drop a quick line here mentioning the lightning again. I've basically stolen Mikey-Flies' lightning system (it's pretty much perfect) and just improved the actual lightning design by spending WAY too much time doing a highly-detailed lightning bolt. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i202/teebonesy/lightning-22.jpg This was my reference (the forked bolt on the right). You can see it in action in The Movies, one of the many new additions. The city is now gripped by a storm and King Kong is much less of a throwaway than before. Am I destined to steal all of Mikey's cool contraptions for my own greedy purposes? Probably.
