I didn't understand like half of that. i'Cie, Fal'Cie. Focus. WTF? I'm with you there Yarbone. The combat system would drive me nuts. And just to ruffle your feathers (FF Fans), The death of Aerith (Aeris) wasn't bad at all. It was boring! I'm thinking of trying it because of those smooth kick butt graphics. The transition into the combat system is supposed to be seamless. I guess I could try >.>... One more thing, I want the japanese voices with subs and all of the writing is english. I just want those awesome voices! They do them so well. Also, dubs are terrible for US versions. Ever watched bleach?

That will pretty much answer your question (in other words, if you are not a fan of RPG's then this game will not change your mind regardless of how amazing it turns out to be).

Of course I am an RPG fan, why else would I have created this thread this lol. I am a bookworm and RPG's are story driven so yeah, I love RPG's. JRPG's in particular really have their own style and flavor and the FF series is my favorite.

I'm guessing you either never played FF7, or you knew Aeries was going to die. It was heartbreaking to play so long with her in the game believing she would be Cloud's love interest only to see her killed out of absolutely nowhere. Well you're clearly not an RPG fan anyway, so same applies to what I just said to Yarbone. ^_^ One more thing, I want the japanese voices with subs and all of the writing is english. I just want those awesome voices! They do them so well. Also, dubs are terrible for US versions. Ever watched bleach? Bleach is one anime. There are plenty of competent voice actors that play their role just as good (if not better) than Japanese voice actors. Ever watched Wolf's Rain? Fullmetal Alchemist? Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan? Anyways, I was really putting down FFXIII initially but now we've seen some more footage it's grown on me quite a lot. Initially I thought the main character looked like a generic, Hollywood, badass heroine but again, she has grown on me somewhat and the other main characters seem pretty interesting too. I'm starting to see a bit of the FF magic that I thought was lost when FFXII came along.

Personally, IX happens to be my favourite game of all time and X is absolute gold too. Everyone is different but almost every main Final Fantasy game is highly regarded for the most part.

Though my love affair ended with this franchise when I played X, I will probably give this one a try just because that video wreaks of visual beauty. I do still play final fantasy III every chance I get though.... still one of my favorite games to date.

FF 1-8 is PURE GOLD. 9 was good. 10 is an atrocity...ugh just BRUTAL! 11 was slow as an MMORPG and to be honest I haven't played the most recent because 10 upset me so much. The best Final Fantasy's have to be FF6, FF7 and FF1.

This game doesn't appeal to me at all even as beautiful as it looks. It looks like a spiced up FF 10. I'd rather go back and enjoy 9 and go for all the endgame bosses which I never did when I first played it.

Yeah it was a good video, but wow, everyone does have different tastes alright. My favorites are X and XII, heck I even enjoyed X-2 more than some of the older titles. No offence to all the fans, but to me VII has got to be the most over-rated game ever. Good yes, but I liked others better. Hopefully I don't get stoned to death for saying that!

Nooooo! This just ruined it for me. I loved FFXII so much, I thought they would continue that style. It WOULD be interesting, though, if we saw FF's style change every game. Oh yeah, and that scene on the bridge...did anyone else start thinking of FFX? So this pretty much looks like some kind of hack 'n slash real time RPG hybrid. Me, I wish it was still like FFXII. Um....let's just pray for no random encounters. Especially in FF, I found that I couldn't walk 2 steps without the screen krmshploding and starting a battle.

Final Fantasy changes so much from game to game that this series really is a hit and miss with me. Now this trailer totally falls in the "miss" section with me. It's like the perfect culmination of all that doesn't interest me. I feel i'm stuck in the head of a young japanese emo guy with his mind torned between his japanese roots and his clear adoration for american culture. The trailer really turned me off to no end.

Instead of stoning you to death I will give you a toffee even though I loved FFVII. The people saying "IX is da worst bcos i sed so" were annoying. Personally, I didn't like VIII as much. I didn't like the junction system at all. Decent storytelling was still there though which was reason enough for me to finish it. I've encountered a lot of people who think IX is the worst (and others like me who think it's the best) and whenever I ask them why it's always a really stupid answer. E.G. "The characters are dumb!", "wharse da guns?".

I'm not a JRPG fan. Or at least I don't think I am. I love the idea of RPGs and I always want to buy them when they come out but I've never finished one. Didn't finish the first disc of FFVII... got to Rocket Town and then stopped playing (furthest I've ever got in a JRPG). Rogue Galaxy I got to the second world and stopped playing after a while. Mother 3 (fan translation) I climbed the cliff and stopped playing. I have more but you get the idea. I play them for a while and then something else grabs my attention and I play it instead. I do enjoy playing them and I'm disappointed that they don't hold my attention as I usually really like the story, music and parts of the gameplay. I just don't like something about them... perhaps it's just that they're too long. At the start I usually feel like each one I try is one of the best games I've ever played and then I just lose interest after a few hours. Anyway on topic, the game looks awesome. At first glance I love the combat system (I don't like turn-based all that much but I think the graphics, animations and the fact that each attack is a combo might be just enough to keep me hooked). The animations are awesome and the game is absolutely beautiful to look at. It seems pretty action packed and the history of the world seems fascinating. I probably will buy it but unfortunately I probably won't finish it. Still there's a first for everything... maybe this will be the first JRPG I finish.

Oh it's look absolutely great! I am a big fan of the FF series and played them all from the third to the twelve. My bests are: 4th, 6th (THE ONE), 7th, 12th. And a special big reward to FF XI, it is a special FF as a MMORPG, but it is probably the game i played the most in all my life (i must have spent more than 1200 hours in this game)... Thank you OCK for the link, I am now terribly anxious to see this 13th Final Fantasy

Can't wait for this. Can't wait for Versus 13 too. I think both games have a more FF7 feel than the last few games. The only FF I didn't like was FF12. Story wasn't as epic as the others, and some of the characters were thinly developed. And the battle system got boring after a while. I hope FFXIII will improve on this.
