First off, I'm not sure if this is the best board to put this in (the fact it covers multiple LBP games makes pinpointing the right place a bit hard), so my apologies if this should be someplace else. Now, with that out of the way, let's see if I can describe my question coherently since it's a bit weird... *ahem* So, having played plenty of LBP1 and LBP2, it's very clear that 2 is a strict "upgrade" to 1. That is to say, once you have all the items from LBP1's Story Mode in your inventory (and all the Trophies, if you're the type to collect 'em), there's pretty much no reason to ever go back to it once you've loaded up LBP2. With only a few very minor exceptions (usually glitched stuff), every item and level that was in LBP1 can be used/played in LBP2. When I found out about this, I was able to comfortably put LBP1 away for good once I got started with LBP2. Simple enough. However, I recently got Little Big Planet Karting, and now I face a conundrum: How, exactly, does LBP2 (with 1's stuff included) interact with LBPK? Obviously you can't play the levels of one in the other game, but how do the items work? If I collect, say, new material or some such in Karting, can I go back to 2 and use it there? And what stuff from 2 do I get to use in Karting? What about DLC content? I'm not quite done with LBP2 yet (nor will I probably ever be, if I wanna keep creating levels), so when would a good time to load up Karting be, assuming that I will return to 2? I hope I was clear in what I'm asking... If anyone needs more clarification, just let me know.

I think the only thing that is shared between the two is DLC costumes.
