Hi, (edit: level update after feedback on original, which is linked far below!)

Escape the Cheese (Literally and Metaphorically!) (http://vita.lbp.me/v/f746t)

The cheese is under attack! Mice have chewed through the almighty block and now the cheese is flowing, literally and in the form of bad jokes! Traverse the perils and score the highest to become top cheese!

So, i made this vita.lbp.me/v/f5pbg

It is my first serious attempt at a level. I am more interested in creating a platformer with humorous elements than filling it with gadgets and gizmos.

So what am i looking for is feedback/constructive criticism regarding the platforming (ie; more peril needed, less mazey) and the humour (placement, delivery etc.)

Thanks in advance!

sweet! I've added it to my queue. Just a suggestion that may help out. Not a requirement but a mere suggestion. Advertising. Learn how to "sell" your level to the reader. Add pictures, a brief yet detailed description(what is this level even about? What type of gameplay is involved?), links, bling, etc. You want it to stand out. You want the reader to go, "Hot dog! I have to play this!" There is a tutorial on the subject right here: Guide to Level Promotion (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=73343-LBPC-Showcase-Essential-Guide-(For-Dummies)). Now this is for LBP2 section but it still is applicable here in the Vita section as well. Something simple like adding the level badge really helps.

Oh the puns, the glorious puns.

Ok, I'll admit I found them a bit cheesy, but that's part of their charm.

As for gameplay, I would have liked to have seen more of the mice. You have a semi-maze setup that would be perfect to have them lurk about in. As it stands, I don't think there was much more to do besides run and jump until the end. Was that last part added on in this new version? It did seem like a huge shift from playing the earlier parts. It could use more balance. Instead of having just the maze part and then the gameplay afterward, you could mix them together.

The character bits you had made for some humorous moments. It was good to break up the cheese backgrounds with some activity.

Now if you'll excuse me, I feel like having a sandwhich.

Yeah, the end was added after feedback about introducing tools. I think what you say about splitting the maze up makes a lot of sense and using the mice for more than decoration would be cool. I'm working on japanese lesson 2 atm, but after that will re-vamp cheese land completely. Thank you for your time!2013-09-17 06:07:00
