Possible to stop AI bots from destroying objects

Archive: 3 posts

I've created an object which is destroyable by a weapon blast, but I only want the player to be able to destroy it, not the bots.
I tried adding a tag to the object and the player spawn but this seems to only work on an area basis, so if the player is near the object, the AI can still destroy it.
Is there any way to stop the bots destroying the object?
Thanks.

Could you put a small radius player sensor with a toggle on it to turn on a tag - so when it is emitted near the player the tag is turned on. (though if it flew close to another player from a bot might trigger it if the detection range is large enough). Then the object needs to detect the tag to turn on the destroyer when it detects the tag and an impact. If the range is small it might need a timer to make sure it is still on depending on how quick the projectile is destroyed and the tag along with it.2013-09-07 12:15:00

I don't know if it works like this, but you could try the pathfinder tweaker, set to ignore. It's supposed to make the AI ignore an object. Never used it before, and I find the other pathfinder settings don't seem to work very tangibly, or not to the more extreme levels I want them to (only on small diversions within the path do they seem to work properly, not path diverting obstacles). It's worth a try though.

If you're using a "weapon target" tweaker, then any homing weapon can target it, regardless of where it comes from (player, AI, emitter).
