I Now Officially HATE This Game

Archive: 18 posts

Well kinda...

OK, here's the story: I was playing LittleBigPlanet about a week ago, working on like four levels (which were previously saved before I worked on them). I wanted to quit playing for a bit, so I turned off the system through the PS Button while PERHAPS the little icon was on. I turn the game back on when I noticed a file from about two weeks ago loaded. I was of course furious at this, now knowing that I now have to start my LEVELS ALL OVER AGAIN.

So, I unwillingly started playing the game again a couple of days ago. (Yesterday and the Day Before to Be Exact). The game saved from the day before yesterday to yesterday when I pressed QUIT GAME and then TURNED THE GAME OFF. Now, I come to play a level or two on the game and the save file mysteriously APPEARED FROM WHERE IT WAS THE FIRST TIME IT RESTARTED MY FILE. Way back when I was furious.

This sh** is really getting on my nerves and now I have to restart ALMOST ALL THE LEVELS I was working on. This is ridiculous...So don't expect me back on this stupid game for a LONG TIME!

P.S. I can't back up the file because every time I save the thing, it's back where it was. This is crazy...and I'm enraged...AGAIN!!!

wow thats crazy! Ive had that happen once... but it was kind of different, like I was super drunk.. playing around on my level, I know it saved at somepoint just because I did it in play mode... but not sure if I saved or not.. thought i did but I was drunk... soo went back to edit more then next day and it was like back to how it was the first time I saved it... never came back tho...

yea if I was you I would probably take a brake from the game... play somthing else for a while, maybe even wait till they patch it some more... then come back when you feel better about it.

But even if they do patch it, I'll never get my levels back. I was working on a level called Angels of the Night and was approximately 1/3 done with it. Now I have to start the thing over again? Now with 3 Other Levels? Seriously, I'm probably not going to play the game again.2009-01-28 22:07:00

Have you tried deleting some community objects?
It's a bug Mm are working on, but since patch 1.07, it sometimes won't warn you when your profile's full, and won't save any more.

I know it's a bit late now, but I hope that's some help.

Clean your profile and always publish you levels but locked before turning off the game. This should prevent any futur happenings like that.2009-01-28 22:23:00

I don't think Community Projects is the problem. And RangerZero, I haven't published one level. Last night I just cancelled out everything until I was in my pod, just standing there. I waited about a minute to see if a little "HDD Indicator" showed up. Nothing showed up so I pressed the PS Button, went to Quit Game, (by this time everything seemed to be running smoothly), and then I just turned off the system from there.2009-01-28 22:28:00

Sounds like it's a case of too many Community Items, as said above. Make sure you get rid of any community items/stickers you don't want, and publish every level as locked after working on them a bit.2009-01-28 22:34:00

I don't think Community Projects is the problem.

It's still worth deleting a few community objects though.
They really pile up after a while, if you play community levels, especially with everyone and their mother giving away those bloody stupid trophy objects in every level.

Also, what RangerZero was getting at was that if you publish your level before you turn off, you can retrieve it again if it didn't save properly for whatever reason (you can still copy it back to your moon, even if it's locked).

OK, I see now. I have deleted a horde of Community Objects and try that locked level thing. Thanks for all your help. (Too bad now I have to Ace and Collect All Items in the MGS levels again though...)2009-01-28 23:12:00

As soon as your done doing 100% again --- BACK UP your save buddy.

Just a little USB key and it does the job, you'll NEVER do it again.

Yes, published locked backups AND keep a copy of your game save data on USB.

Now the funny story is that inevitably, you will have people leaving comments on your levels like "WERE R KEYS FOR YOUR LOCKD LEVLEZ OMG?!"

Publish locked back-ups

I have to stress this also. Publishing a locked copy of your level (even if it's not done yet) will help keep it safe in case anything happens.

I have seen a report of someone who's level was lost even after having done this though... but it should be much rarer than the unfortunately very common save bugs.

Yea, know that you are not alone, I've experienced almost every bug mentioned since 1.07 except the "everything goes red" bug perhaps (that's probably the only one I would have liked to see So basically the only best bet now is to lock-publish things. I do it for everything now. And I don't bother deleting community objects, I know I just play/create publish my work and come back the next time and download what I want to work on, etc!2009-01-29 15:12:00

I love you guys (In a no homo way). I got my levels up and running and working on them again. This has actually motivated me to definetely back up EVERYTHING (I've done so only a couple times before). Anyway, expect to see some levels from yours truly. THANK YOU LBPCENTRAL!!!

Locked by request of the original poster. It's good to see a happy ending as well.
