Need help with Controlinator + Camera!

In my level I'm trying to make a controlinator work so that when you enter it, it will activate a camera and make you look somewhere else.

I tried putting down a game camera and a toggle. It activated the camera when I entered but it didn't center on the image I wanted, just slightly to the side towards where I focused the camera.

Can someone please help me? I'm not that great with logic lol.

You would use a movie camera if it needs to go "offscreen" or the game camera focus isn't working quite right. Just make sure you have the time set up or have it set to infinite and change to another movie camera with time set to the minimum possible whenever you exit the controllinator.2013-09-01 07:12:00

On the game camera's settings you may need to tweak the 'follow player' setting to 0%, as this aims the camera slightly towards the player and away from the focus. I'd advise a movie camera though as they work a lot better when using controlinators, just wire the 'controlinator active' output to a movie camera set to infinite hold time. If you need the camera to be stopped just activate another movie camera with a hold time of 0.2013-09-01 19:10:00

Hi Prpninja.
The problem with a game camera is its pretty much always focusing on the player, even when adjusted, its looking to stay around the player on screen.
Best idea I can think of is to use sackbots for the players.
1. Place a sackbot and open his chip. On this place controllinator set to recieve a blue transmit controllinator, also place a green tag.
Make a 4x4 1 layer block of hologram or sticker panel and set it to appear invisible. On this place a controllinator set to transmit blue, and
not wisible. Also place a follower set to follow the green tag on the bot. So now the player follows the bot and congtrols him (but the player
and block hes on are invisible)
2. That sets up the bot, next we want to set the camera view.In the center of the area you want to view, place a yellow tag (labeled 'camera
view 1&apos. Next, we need what triggers this view. For the example lets say a lever. Set it so when the lever is pulled it activates a yellow tag
labelled 'on camera view 1'
3. Now, open up the controllinators chip on the following invis block( for a quick rewire). On this, place
A yellow tag sensor (labelled 'on camera view 1&apos wired to the cycle tab of a two port selector the output from the first port is going to the
green tag follower we previously placed. But, the second selector port output is wired to a follower to detect yellow tag 'camera view 1'.
Also from port 2 on selector connect it up to a timer. Wire the timers output back to the port one input on selector.

HOW IT WORKS.

As le player mover, the sackbot moves along with him. The camera view automatically follows the players position. (altough the player and
block hes on cant be seen.
He travels along untill he gets to lever. Up to now the selector on the players seat chip is set to port one on selector meaning it will follow
the sackbot with the green tag. Now, when he pulls the lever, it will on the yellow tag. This in turn is sensed by the tag sensor going into the
cycle tab on selector, turning off the green tag follower and selecting port 2, the yellow tag camers view 1 follower. This follower now
activates, making the player seat jump over to the yellow tag camera view 1 (which is in the view you want and the player view will be
centered here). however as just the following players position has jumped to this view, the bot is still at the switch (if you wanted more
players that would see the bot at the switch on thier view.
Also this second port selection fires a timer that counts up. When it reches the end, it reselects port one on the selector, oning the green tag
selector abain and offing the view selector. the player seat and camera view goes back to the bot.

Sorry the descripion is so long, and you may need to play about with this, but essentially, move the player to the view. Kf you need help with this, just invite me in game
