My first level: Adventure in the sky

Archive: 6 posts

Hi everybody,
I have finally managed to publish my first level in LBP Vita. I put a lot of effort in it, i am not a pro creator but i think the result is quite good for a newbe.

It's called "Adventure in the sky".

http://vita.lbp.me/v/f0qgg

It's a classic style platform, simple but somehow challenging.

I hope you will play and enjoy this adventure, please let me know any comment or advice to improve my creation skills.

Thanks to everyone who will take some time to try it, have fun!! :star:

ok so ive played it yesterday and to be honest it does have some potential to me. the way you created those clouds were pretty interesting. just look out that you dont overdo things cause they got a bit boring after awhile

another thing you could improve is to make sure the players cant see the side walls of the level, like in the beginning when I walked to the left I could see the outline of the level.

then gameplay wise you had some nice stuff here and there. Just dont overuse stuff like moving clouds and lots of jumppads, it can become boring after awhile try to make more different gameplay mechanics/obstacles.

1 more thing is that I wasnt always able to get ALL the score bubbles, some were placed a bit awekward to me, try working on that a great thing that I try now with my levels is when youre finished let a friend of you or family member play the level. someone who doesnt play lbp to see how difficult/obvious your level is so you know people wont get confused sometimes.

but overall for a first level it wasnt bad at all keep making levels I'd love to see you improve every level!

ps: can you check out my levels? Im not a pr0 either I only made 2 levels yet ( about to publish my 3rd )

edit: WOW I use lots of XDD

Here's my quick review!

Visually this level is stunning at times. It has great picture moments but then the gameplay tends to interfere with that. While it has a neat cloud effect, it often makes gameplay a little confusing as it hides bounce pads.

That's a big jump :O
I would add some visuals to hide the plain background as well. Also just a quick note before I move from visuals, the sides of the level should never be visible unless it is part of the visuals

Apparently the sky has walls.
Now to finish up my very quick review, I'll move on to gameplay. The gameplay for being your first level was better than I was expecting. That isn't to say the gameplay was great, but it had its moments. The bounce pads were fun but it needed some tuning because I never knew where they were. My favorite part would be the bouncing while avoiding the thunder but every other thunder part was my least favorite. The grapple part was pretty difficult as well because it was hard to judge distance with the camera being so far away.

I fell to my death many times during this part. Oh and set dampening on the stars to 100%
The only other thing that annoyed me was a lot of the bubbles were unreachable. That's my really fast and to the point review
