is there a way to increase the amount of objects emitted at once using a switch2009-01-28 20:48:00

hmm I cant think of any really, I know magneteic switches (probalbly others too) can change the speed at wich things or emmited... soo It may take alot of tweaking, but a two way switch hooked to a piston with a magnetic switch, the mag switch set to speed and hooked to emmiter... then maybe if your tweaked the emmiter so that when the switch is in the off position, it would emmit say one at a time ( whatever speed its emmiting = life time of emmited object) when the switch is on, (tweak the piston to w.e max length will give you the ammount of objects at a time you want...)
not sure this will work for you but the only other thing i can think of is to have the switch hooked to multiple other emmitors and set to on off...

You could always just emit the same thing from a different emitter and have them on different sync settings. This could give the illusion that one emitter is emitting more frequently, especially if there is only one visible.

Just remember that an emitter won't emit if there is already an object in that space. If your emitted things are large or not moving then it might be a problem in terms of collide conflicts preventing the second emitter from working.

Well it depends on how many times you want to change what you are emitting. I know I could change it up to four with a grab switch and probably alot more with other switches. If you want I could create a demo and you could copy it to see how it works.

Edit: Alright the demo is up and I will be making another thread for this demo because it is a new creation so far. The level is called 10 way grab switch and it is by me LordCanti07.

you could try setting it up so that when you hit the switch the emitter is destroyed and another is turned on with the new settings. YOu could set up a chain like this with as many changes as you want. i can picture how to get it to work to turn on as many different emitters in sequence as you wanted while only having to use one switch that needs to be moved by the player. if interested you can contact me and i can test my idea out for you and show you.2009-01-30 17:37:00

Attach the blue switch to the emitter, and it will spawn in an item once for each time the blue key enters the radius of the switch (one revolution). The wheel it is attached to spins faster as the piston pushes the green key closer. Now you just have to decide how to move the piston. You can use a three way switch, a directional switch, ditch the piston altogether and make a cart that moves the key. . . . You get the idea
