Thanks for robbing me from my disc content in LBP2 EXTRA Edition...

Archive: 10 posts

i have bought lbp1 goty and lbp2 collector edition and all the level dlc have been included on the disc. costumes did comes as a download codes and was downloadable, but costumes ain't that important. its the creator stuff that is in the level dlc that counts.

so when the lbp2 extra edition arrived and it got the muppet and vita crossplay dlc, i was looking forward to buying that version too.

i bought it took it home and put the disc in my ps3, it did a install of 1.6gb to my hd, awesome i though now i have it. i started up the game and didn't see anything.. i was like???? where the heck is it... then i looked in the box, there it was a download code, but there was nothing to download, it was installed from disc. WTF!.... yes they locked away my stuff that was already on the disc, mm did a capcom on me. this is not acceptable at all, the content is on the disc i payed for it, there is nothing to download. i didnt pay to rent the stuff on my disc... greed have gone to far. i never thought mm would go this far, i have now lost faith in mm, i have put years into this game and have supported it with buying the dlc. so this is the thanks i get, it is outrageous.

if there is other out there that collect lbp and want to own the stuff they buy including the stuff on the disc. take this as a warning dont buy the lbp2 extra edition.

One of my friends bought it and it was perfectly fine. Although he did download his version. Also I'm getting really confused did you get the download code, did you buy preowned?

If you did get the code go to the store select redeem code ,or whatever it's called now, and put in the code.

The download code is for the store where it should allow you to claim your stuff. That is where all DLC comes from.2013-08-26 18:33:00

i buy new disc and the content is on disc and locked away with a download code, there is nothing to download because it is already on disc.... the content is now rented not owned. i can not take the my content i bought on disc and use it where ever i want... because i will have to buy it again every time... that is the problem.

if the content have not been on the disc, and i have to download the content with the download code. i would have accepted it and had no problem with this... selling disc content as digital rental, is wrong and not acceptable.

Well... When I got mine, it came with a code that I used in the store to retrieve my DLC.

Though the best way to resolve an issue with Sony is to call them.

I can't fully understand what you are trying to say, so I have some questions to clarify things. Is there a downlaod code included in the game?
If yes, did you try and enter that code in the PS Store? Are there messages that appear and keep you from using the code?

do you guys know the difference of a retail buy and a digital rental buy?.... let me explain.

1. a retail buy is a disc you buy in a store and all content on disc is yours forever to own, and us on whatever ps3 or psn id you want, as many time you want.

2. a digital rental buy is a digital buy you do from psn and is for one account only, and when sony delete that content from psn you cant get it anymore.

now if this had in fact been a psn digital rental download that needed a download code, i wouldn't had any problem with it.... but the content is already on the disc and is a retail buy, and shouldn't need any download code at all... i didn't pay for digital, i pay for retail and that is the problem.

if you look at earlier releases like lbp1goty and lbp2 collection edition they also come with extras on the disc, there is no code for it...... i can use the extra content on whatever ps3 or psn id i want, as many time i want... because it is a retail buy.

so why the hell mm start this bs now with lbp2 extra edition?... they should mark the box with a label that says "disc include extras that is on the disc, but you have only access to it once. if you want more usages on different ps3/psn ids you gotta buy it once more. when we delete the access code from the psn you will not have access to your stuff you bought on the disc anymore" that is the honest way to do it.....

as of now it dont say anything on the cover of the box, it give you the impression that you own the stuff you buy on the disc when you dont... so its a robbery at plain daylight. i am gonna take the disc back to gamestop and claim my money back.... and i am not gonna buy anymore lbp games, if this is they way they gonna do it from now.

You bought it for you and not multiple people. Once you downloaded the content, it's forever yours. It's not robbery, it's business. They all want to make money, not give you stuff for free. Why would you need multiple accounts? If you want to save money, just buy the DLC for every account instead of spending extra money for a game that you already have. Or do you have 5 different accounts, or something like that?2013-08-26 21:11:00

there isn't any content to download.... its all on the disc and its locked away with a code so it is not mine forever, it should be since i payed for it... they have got their god **** money once, it should be good enough. after i bought it i should be able to use the whole game on the disc as i please, if i want to have it on 1000 psn accounts its none of their business. anyway i dont think you know the different between a retail buy and a digital rental buy.... if i buy a music cd i dont have to pay every time i play it in a different cd player, its a retail buy, the music on the cd is mine... its not a spotify account where you rent your music... its that simple.2013-08-26 22:11:00

Calm down... nobody is robbing you of anything. From what I recall, this is how they have done all their additional content discs and even if they haven't I don't see any issue with it. You can load it up to 5 different machines providing you have an account on those machines. Simply go back to the store, pull up downloads and go for it.

...but then again, if you are wanting to spread it to all your friends, you are out of luck as game sharing is against the EULA.

Fyi.. software is not like music. Most publishers anymore allow you one license key for one machine period. Adobe allows you to load some things on a laptop, but will not allow a 3rd.

This isn't new stuff at all..
