Kustom Culture Patch?
Archive: 16 posts
This was talked about briefly over at the Little Big Workshop forums before it got lost in the shuffle of other threads. But their is talk on some websites that a patch or pack called the Kustom Culture Patch maybe coming out sometime soon. It's a collection of artist created levels for LittleBigPlanet that will be released to help raise funds for the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund. So it will be a pack we will have to purchase but the money will go to a good cause. I'm not sure if or when this will come out, since we haven't had any official word about it. But I thought it was worth passing along to you guys. N4G (http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-266626.aspx) Family Guy Artist's LBP Level 37 TheSixthAxis: "If swinging pirate ships, gassy cats and giant eye balls are your thing then you're in for one hell of a treat as Joe Vaux, a storyboard artist on the amazing Family Guy publishes a LittleBigPlanet level. Have a peek at this YouTube preview, it does look fantastic. Interestingly also on the YouTube page it mentions; "If you like Joe Vaux's level, check out the other artist created levels in the Kustom Culture patch coming soon to LittleBigPlanet and help raise funds for the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund!" YouTube - Joe Vaux's LittleBigPlanet Level Sixthaxis (http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/01/27/family-artists-lbp-level/) Family Guy Artist?s LBP Level Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 1:51 am News If swinging pirate ships, gassy cats and giant eye balls are your thing then you?re in for one hell of a treat as Joe Vaux, a storyboard artist on the amazing Family Guy publishes a LittleBigPlanet level. Have a peek at this YouTube preview, it does look fantastic. Interestingly also on the YouTube page it mentions; ?If you like Joe Vaux?s level, check out the other artist created levels in the Kustom Culture patch coming soon to LittleBigPlanet and help raise funds for the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund!? A quick Google for ?Kustom Culture? yields no related search results except for a Planet Illogica PlayStation event last November. So I?m going to go out on a wing, and say that there could shortly be a collection of levels designed by artists which will be available as a premium download, and furthermore proceeds from the sale of this content will benefit the previously mentioned fund. There I've said it. So, this is either a fine example of investigative journalism (of sorts) or every one?s going to claim they already knew about the artisit's levels Kustom Culture DLC, and I?m going to look as foolish as the time I? well? never mind. | 2009-01-28 15:03:00 Author: BurlapSackBoy Posts: 310 |
Hm... wow. That's new. Hopefully those levels would be good... But then it would also go to a charity- though I HIGHLY doubt all of it... Strange, though, that they have people like a screenwriter for a TV show make levels- hopefully it will be good. I hope this would be the start of other companies using LBP and making levels out of them. Be it videogame companies or companies trying to advertise... As long as those ad levels are somewhat decent, it would be better then, say, Home's ads :/. | 2009-01-28 15:18:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
The level didn't look like it was 'MM quality' in my opinion. | 2009-01-28 16:57:00 Author: Unknown User |
It looks pretty awesome, and I think I'd purchase it (but only for the good feeling that you get from giving to charity) I agree with Rocksauron though, it'd be great if this started off something | 2009-01-28 16:57:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
The level didn't look like it was 'MM quality' in my opinion. I agree with you on this one. I've seen better. | 2009-01-28 19:13:00 Author: squishy_squid Posts: 64 |
The level didn't look like it was 'MM quality' in my opinion. That level didn't look like quality period. I watched this trailer a day or so ago, and I was wondering why the heck it was featured on PSBlog's youtube channel. Now I see why, but other than the funny looking animals, I didn't see anything really interesting. Remember what our levels looked like when we first started making them... That's the impression I get here! You can't just give LBP to someone and expect him to make an amazing level tomorrow, it takes time to develop skills and figure out the tools. I guess we'll see what comes of all this in time | 2009-01-28 19:27:00 Author: KAPBAM Posts: 1348 |
Im having a hard time trying to believe that was created by an artist, disregarding the terrible level structure visual design is severely lacking It would be a good idea though, the artist level pack for Wipeout Pure was incredible | 2009-01-28 19:40:00 Author: accordion Posts: 76 |

Im having a hard time trying to believe that was created by an artist, disregarding the terrible level structure visual design is severely lacking Joe Vaux, a storyboard artist on the amazing Family Guy publishes a LittleBigPlanet level. The Family Guy connection pretty much explains everything d: I really couldn't see myself buying this level, even for charity. Not when there's better levels being made for free by other players. | 2009-01-28 22:20:00 Author: Ace Posts: 118 |

The video's private...? Look's like for some reason this video has been pulled from viewing. It's not viewable on other sites as well. Not sure of the reason(s). | 2009-01-29 13:38:00 Author: BurlapSackBoy Posts: 310 |
They might have accidentally put it up early, or maybe seen the unimpressed comments from everyone. | 2009-01-29 13:48:00 Author: Ace Posts: 118 |
We want real artists creating really artistic levels, not family guy storyboard artists creating bad levels and destroying lbps reputation... | 2009-01-29 14:16:00 Author: Marklin80 Posts: 458 |
