Iota early year 3D adventure

Archive: 4 posts

Just published my first entry for the Tearaway Competition, it uses a 3D style glitch to create a maze. Would be grateful for any feedback.

It's a nice level! I played your other Tearaway maze, and this version has really improved visually. The wendigos were a bit glitchy and hurt you even if there was a wall between you and them. It wasn't very challinging for me and I once needed to go a long way back because I wanted to get all points. That was pretty boring because Iota walks so slow. I think you could improve it and maybe add more things to it until the deadline.
Anyways good level, you keep getting better and better!

My first impression was of course on the visual effect. Great job pulling that off.

The mechanics felt a little clunky, like TheEnimal said, the player can be hurt through walls and the like. There also wan't too much challenge. Even the final one involved nothing more than running in a straight line. It could be a little more varied, maybe with things moving or more varied touch controls added.

Speaking of which, I also like what you tried with the camera change and finger appearing. Maybe that could be cleaned up and built upon to make gameplay more interesting.
