LBP Blueprint Workshop Info

Archive: 6 posts

Hi there guys,

I'm trying to find out about this Little Big Planet Blueprint Workshop site, apparently you can design levels or ideas when away from your console, like on a Mac or PC! But I can't seem to find it.

So I was wondering, does anyone know anything about this, could you please leave a reply, also could you show how you guys plan out a level or at least describe your process of designing a level.

Thanks for reading this and taking the time to respond, I'm really eager to hear how players get there inspiration and ideas.

Thank you in advance.

Add me on PSN if you wish : tag : Coezzy

Ok, I could be COMPLETELY wrong here, but if I do remember correctly I think the Blueprint Workshop was a flash based level designer. You could click and drag objects onto the screen and arrange them how you wanted to, however, it was (don't know if it was updated since) really quite lacking in what you could actually design so I never bothered to use it.

I always found good old fashioned pen and paper much quicker and easier to use, portable too!

Unfortunately, the site is no longer there. Like SR20 above, I usually just draw out a rough sketch on paper and then go from there.2013-08-17 05:00:00

Thanks for the replies, least now i have finally found an answer to what happen to the site, and yes, pen and paper is portable too, lol, .
I guess I was looking for a cleaner way of designing, something more structured, if you know what I mean?, but I'm going to try get myself some graph paper and try using those block as a reference to the grid blocks in the game.

Thank you guys very much for responding to this thread, I at least now have an answer to the site, I might upload some of my drawings later today.

Thanks again guys, God Bless

EDIT:

Would it be alright if I start a sketch thread in one of the other threads, something like a level layout, just to get the creative juices flowing, lol.

You could use grid paper ( math notebook paper) to quickly sketch out sections of your level, by using the gird as a measurement units.

For example, let's say one square on your gird paper represents a Small-Grid unit from LBP. That way you can easily visualize the scale, and you can can use it to quickly measure how far out pieces need to be spaced in order for your sackboy to reach portions by jumping and so on.

Just an idea.

Edit: Well never-mind, I ended up not reading what you wrote and basically repeated what you said. *facepalm*

Yes that is a great idea, I was actually gonna go buy some today but got a lil busy, but yes, I myself thought of that, it should help me perfectly for measurements.

But thank you for your reply, I do appreciate it
