Craftopia is a new take on the sandbox genre where you get to create and grow your own world. Loosely based off Terraria and somewhat comparable to Minecraft, the mechanics are similar in that you place and remove tiles positioned in a grid-like fashion. The world you start of with is empty but with plenty of time and a touch of TLC it can grow to be as big as you want it to. To begin with, there are 4 materials to choose from. In terms of gameplay it is ideal that you place a few rows of soil and craft out of wood a simple structure to house your sackperson. Your score indicates the amount of tiles that can be placed into the world. Placing a tile deducts points whereas removing tiles gives the points back. As time progresses, grass will begin to grow from the soil. You can remove the grass to gain points - this is the main farming element of the game as the growth of the grass will not deduct points but removing it will give points. More points = more soil patches, bigger houses, bigger world etc. Make sure that you remain safe during night hours. Monsters will spawn at night which is why you need the house. They can be killed off by strategically placing torches so that they run into them and set on fire. Points can also be gained by doing this but they must be killed by the fire. Obviously as well, torches can be used as a light source. There is much potential for further development of this game as there is currently not a lot in it and the thermo has been very generous but it can be played for hours as it is very addicting.
