One great way to get recognition is to play some other people's levels who participate in the feedback-for-feedback, give them your notes on their level, and ask if they could take a look at yours.

For instance, you could check out my "Splat Invaders Saga" level and put a note on my showcase thread. However, I'm regardless going to give you a proper review on this tonight. I love arcade-type games (as you'll see if you check out mine).

Well I just tried this and I gotta say - it's great

LBP is slowly getting filled with shooters (not that its a bad thing) but this one really shines - and it shines with pure happy rays

I'll admit I did terrible on it -.-' (I generally do at these things), but the concept was great, the ship, the powerups and the waves of stickers as enemies.

I hate giving feedback without suggestions though so here it goes:

-Perhaps its just me but the Super shot didn't seems to do much...is it less damage or something?

- An arrow of something to show you where to go at the end might be nice, its a bit eerie dropping into white space like that

overall 5 stars and a well earned heart, it really was a nice break from the usual LBP stuff.

EDIT: Oh i just remembered about F4F, you can take a look at either HEIST (in my sig) if you want. You dont have to though.

Just played this level and thoroughly enjoyed it. You seem to have went about it in a slightly different way using glass. some tips on how this was done would be majorly appreciated I loved the fact that you added little extra like the energy bar and powerups. It all seemed to be really well put together. 5 stars and hearted!2009-01-29 20:09:00

I had a lot of fun with this one. As you know from my own work, I'm a big fan of arcade-type action.

One of the things I liked most about this game was the different "wacky" aliens each with their own destruction sign. It added a lot of personality. The bosses were well done, and I liked the stars slowly moving in the background.

One thing.. not a big thing necessarily... that was bugging me. I would have liked to see the material on the left bottom of the screen go away during gameplay. It kind of broke the illusion of movement. Not a big thing, but I think it would have made a slightly better experience.

Great job! Hearted it!

Well, I made a few minor changes, (Mostly mechanical ones, that probably I'd notice) and covered up the green that was showing while in space.

I also added a new vid to the first post.

Great job, I found myself playing this one over and over again. One little note though, occasionally the points get stuck or don't fall at all, which can be a real annoyance if you're going for that high score.2009-02-04 15:22:00

Yeah believe it or not that's something that's been bothering me, and it wasn't until today at work when I realized how to fix this problem. SO I have reprogrammed the bit, and it works fine now. There should be no issue of missing the points, but there's still a delay, it's nothing I can aviod, until a new patch is installed restoring the wires of captured objects. Until then this is the best method, but t increases the score total by ALOT!!!2009-02-04 23:51:00

Don't know what you did, but it worked. It runs a lot smoother now and I snagged the number one spot (for now)2009-02-05 00:33:00

I played it man... the mechanics of it are very polished, down to every part from the life bar and the power ups, to the variety of enemies and their varying attack patterns and mini-bosses... being able to regenerate your health is definitely a simple engineering marvel. Is that just through triggering an emitter to re-emit dissolve keys for an inverted switch that triggers the shiup destruction? The presentation is very nice and original. I definitely like the sound effects.

I like how the white sticker glass gives the black score board a sketched look... but I think you should throw some white glass in behind it with the scoreboard just cutting right into it, instead of showing the blue background. That's the only thing I could see that I would change, everything else is great.

Yeah, this is one of those games that makes me kind of wish there was a feature in LBP called "Playlist" (apart from hearting) where you could just stick a permenant level in there that you know you're going to just drop in and play every once in a while.

Where else are you going to find a "yummy" explosion?

Half the fun of LBP is playing other people's levels and dissecting how they are put together mechanically. I can honestly say that this is the first level I've played that I have no clue how some of the stuff in it is done.

I'm not really feeling the gameplay (i must have 50 shooters in this vein...Compile FTW), but the the construction is brilliant and any tribute to the genre gets a nod in my book. 5 stars and a heart.

Hey Maraz_Matari, here's your review on Super Color Shooter

Pros:
- Nice concept, really cool
- Also really fun to play
- Nice powerup system.
- Dual shot was realy cool and helpful

Cons:
- You called the powerup "Duel shot alpha" but i believe it Dual With an a.. No biggie
- On the Health Restored powerup, there's a visible mag key.
- The cow feeder part.. thing enemy had a visible mag key aswell i believe
- I got hit quite a few times without the Clunk sound, so the game didn't see i got hit..?
- I believe i got the P powerup without it saying POwer Shot Acquired.
- I got a shield powerup, but when the S moved out of the screen i didn't get my shield. If it's an emitter then it's caused because something is in the way of spawning the object.

Misc:
- It would be really REALLY cool if your power shot changed when you acquired dual shot, just as it did in those classic games, whenever you got a new type of weapon. But then again, it would probably be really hard to make.

Overall, Amazing survival challenge, even though it didn't really had a incrasing difficulty

Thanks ThommyTheThird. I know about a few of the mag switches showing, but just haven't gotten around to taking them out.

But glad that you enjoyed the level over all.

Wow, someone else here actually knows of a group like Compile. Im surprised, lol. Usually I mention groups like that or Cave or Psikyo and nobody knows what the heck Im talking about....

Anyway, I intend on trying this one myself a bit later (was gonna do it NOW, actually, but suddenly I realize Im low on time here), and I'll drop some detailed feedback later.

Probably VERY detailed feedback, since it's a shmuppy thing and Im such a fan of that genre...

Just a quick review from the review league, just to say thanks Maraz!

Super Color Shooter
By Maraz_Matari
PSN: Maraz_Matari

Looking for a level to make you chuckle, laugh out loud or just for some fun then I would definatley recommend Super Color Shooter by Maraz_Matari. You are a sackboy inside a ship and you have to collect power-ups to take down lesser enemies, and later on a boss. From the few times I played it, I have come across some.... interesting enemies ranging from the sane(ish) to the outrageous cow udders.
With a lot of replayability thanks to high scores and some great gameplay combine to make this a great level. The asthetics on the level are very good, and all the eneimes are well designed. The real stand out point to this level is the attention to detail Maraz has put in. Where most side-scrolling shooters let the enemies disappear, this level has it's own twist.... but I'll let you go and check that out yourselves.

Suggestion: I had no idea how close to killing the boss I was I think some sort of indicator as to this would work very well.

Asthetics: Just looks really good
Attention to detail: When the enemies die - priceless!
Amount of milk that should be spilt in this level: Udders galore!

Overall: **** and hearted

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I've been busy with the Review League (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=8992), so unfortunately I had to remove the F4F on my levels. Though if anyone wants someone to play their levels (or requests me over at the thread) then someone (or I) will definitely play and review your level. Thanks again guys.2009-03-04 02:01:00
