Archive: 64 posts
Update: The exciting annoucement turns out to be a sweet LIttleBigPlanet 2 and LittleBigPlanet Vita Contest where you have to make a inspired level from Media Molecule's upcoming vita game Tearaway (http://tearaway.mediamolecule.com/)! You will also receive a free Tearaway DLC sticker pack containing a lot of stickers and a music track if you want to use them in your level! The prize is a PlayStation Vita and a rare Prize Crown! The deadline is September 14,2013! More info here: http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/article/win_a_ps_vita_in_our_tearaway_themed_littlebigplan et_contest/ Hey everyone! The LittleBigPlanet twitter account tweeted that there is no LittleBigPlanet update on the Playstation Blog today because there is something exciting happening tommorow! http://i.imgur.com/O5vLjqi.jpg Any thoughts on what it can be? Could it be a big DLC pack? A new LBP game? Another big contest? Also, there is so much more happening in the LBP-verse such as a possibilty of a LBP party at Eurogamer this year: http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/LittleBigPlanet-General/LBP-Gamejams-and-community-meet-ups/td-p/19454552 2013 isn't over yet - we're halfway there! Also I can't wait for Gamescom, sounds like Sony has big plans up it's sleeve. And judging by the Pocket Moon Podcast's 39th episode (https://soundcloud.com/pocket-moon-podcast/pocket-moon-podcast-39-pocket), Steven has been a busy bee lately! I can't wait to see what future LittleBigPlanet is holding for us and sackboy! | 2013-08-12 18:04:00 Author: hyperdude95 Posts: 1793 |
Considering how LBP2 has been out for so long already, I don't think it's a DLC pack as I think Sony would want to move on to a new game by now. So there's a chance it'll be LBP3. For the PS4, of course. | 2013-08-12 18:14:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |

Maybe LBP2 is going free to play, and it'll be funded by sales of costumes and level packs. | 2013-08-12 19:11:00 Author: Entity Posts: 274 |

If it's a big announcement than it has to be a new LBP. They never did a big announcement for DLC before, and the PS4 is right around the corner, so I'm certain it's a new game. | 2013-08-12 19:27:00 Author: amoney1999 Posts: 1202 |

Geez. It's NOT going to be an announcement for a new LBP. They wouldn't do that big of an announcement on the PSBlog. It wasn't announced at E3 and I think the chances of it being announced at GamesCom is probably 50/50. No, I think in this case, the hype is bigger than the announcement itself. Probably another costume...Last of Us more than likely. | 2013-08-12 19:56:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |

Repeating one of the posts above, why in the world do you guys think it's a new LBP game?! Steven has hinted about an 'ancient costume pack' coming, as well as a new LBP Vita level pack. He's always an enthusiastic and upbeat guy and I think the community(even I) misread that sometimes. So please don't get your hopes up, you can be excited, but there's a VERY good chance this'll be DLC. If there's a new LBP it'll certainly be announced at an event such as gamescom. Then again.......... LBPK was announced on the PSBlog I think. | 2013-08-12 20:09:00 Author: The5rozos Posts: 952 |
"Exciting announcement" ... I'd be surprised if they announced a big game like LBP3 on the blog and not at an event like E3 or Gamescom. But then it also doesn't sound like it's some random costume pack. I think a level pack is the safer bet, but hopefully it is LBP3. Whether it's on PS3 or PS4, I just want it now. | 2013-08-12 20:23:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger Posts: 787 |

Yeah, I'm guessing it'll be a costume pack or something they'll try to make look big for PR or something. Still, Gamescom is coming up. I'm guessing it'll be there. One hint... This is something new that we haven't done before. (Piegeons Cat Piegeons) ******, Steve. Now with your assurance that it's something new, I don't know anymore. D: ... Piegeons Cat Piegons... I would also be happy to see a Star Wars level pack. That would be SO awesome! My thoughts were going towards an announcement for a Star Wars level pack, but it could be something else... What could they consider as a big announcement? Another studio has decided to give them the rights to use some of their characters? I highly doubt it's the announcement for a new costume pack, but a level pack would be nice! Imagine any of the possibilities that could come: Level Pack for Monsters Inc. or Monsters University... LBP2 DLC pack for LBPV unique tools (No Way!) An announcement for an upcoming LBP3 Beta! | 2013-08-12 21:02:00 Author: Bryan_Zuckerberg Posts: 874 |
PCP? It must be a new LBP coming to the PCP Station! Y'know, everyones favourite handheld games console! http://tctechcrunch2011.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/fsrwd.jpg Jokes aside I imagine it's a level pack. While I don't think it's impossible that it could be a new title, I do doubt it. (I mean, LBPK wasn't announced during a major event, was it? I thought it was revealed out of the blue? I honestly don't remember, but I don't think so. Please enlighten me if I'm mistaken!) I decided to look up a bunch of acronyms to see if any of them seemed likely. One that came up was; Profile Control Panel. I do know people have always wanted more LBP.me functionality, the block stuff was added recently, so we know the team is still working on the site, and an LBP.me update does seem fitting for the PS Blog. Although, I don't know if that's something 'new' like StevenL hinted at. I wonder if the plurals in 'pigeons cat pigeons' is relevant... Like, it's not 'pigeons cats pigeons' or 'pigeon cat pigeon'. | 2013-08-12 21:22:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

(Pigeons Cat Pigeons) - There is a total of 17 letters. Littlebigplanet has 15 letters. If you add them together there are 32 letters. Then subtract 2 since there are two Littlebigplanet games (not karting, duh) on the ps3. Then you got 30. 30/10 since 10 is a very beautiful number. You get 3. LBP3. Coincidence? I think not. | 2013-08-12 22:23:00 Author: yoghurt2000 Posts: 74 |

I think the big announcement is just another DLC. But I bet the DLC will be like the Water Pack. So maybe some kind of new lava physics or scoop-able water? Perhaps in-game snow? | 2013-08-13 00:59:00 Author: Nazar_Ops Posts: 175 |

OK, so the LBP Twitter account (https://twitter.com/LittleBigPlanet) has said the community is getting a little too excited regarding the announcement being an LBP3. We love each and everyone of you for your enthusiasm and passion for LBP but sadly we think you may of jumped the sack-gun on this occasion So I think it's safe to say it's not an LBP3 we'll be getting today. The account also tweeted; We have some very cool news to share today about an awesome competition though! So we're definitely getting a competition. That's cool. I'm excited. To varying levels depending on what the comp actually is, mind. I'm also curious if the comp itself is the big announcement, or if it's in addition to the big announcement. I think it is, but I dunno. In any case, a comp is big enough for me. This'll be fun. | 2013-08-13 12:21:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

Of course they don't specify critical details like rules on Level links or if the cross-controller pack is allowed or not. I think it would be safe to say that both should be left out if possible. I couldn't care less about the Vita or handheld consoles in general, nor do I care about Tearaway, so I'm pretty disappointed, but for those who do care, have fun!. I'm with you. And tbh, I think I would had been more interested more in a costume-pack then a create contest... the free DLC pack isn't my cup of tea too. For starters It doesn't include any Decos. DLC stickers I find to be a bother since I can't remove them from my popit like my own stickers. I prefer to make my own stickers with PSMove also. And The community makes enough music tracks I can use for my levels. But the pack is free, so I'll give it that much. nothing wrong with it. It just does nothing for me personally. *mew But like I said yesterday. Part of the fun was just being excited for the news regardless of what the news would be. which is fun in itself imo. | 2013-08-13 17:09:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
Alright. I'll be the guy to say I'm starting to get irritated with all this regional crap. It seems like most regional things associated with Sony are in the UK, but not the USA. The official PlayStation android app, the new Sony android game that'll have sackboy, a few official Sony contests, etc. And now this. This is extremely irritating. So much for an exciting announcement. | 2013-08-13 17:13:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |
