http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz63/xiv_mofo/ComingOut_zpsd5588483.jpg (http://lbp.me/v/m62k3q) I've gone and done it again...another level. Of course it is again based around pressing a sequence of buttons to interact with the level. This is very similar to my Disembodied Genius level in that by pressing the appropriate button, the various platforms/obstacles are activated. The only difference is that these platforms are not being emitted but rather are moving in/out. The other main difference is that it is compatible for four players instead of one. Should play fine with four but let me know if it doesn't. If you like challenging platformers or have played my past levels, give this one a whirl. Have fun! I'll update this post with more details at a later time. Enjoy! http://lbp.me/v/m62k3q | 2013-08-12 02:09:00 Author: ElGueroGigante Posts: 85 |
I had fun with this level. It wasn't as amazing as some of your other stuff, but it was still very enjoyable. The difficulty ramped up in a very smooth way with increasingly elaborate combinations, and the simplistic style and music are just icing on the cake (I hate metaphors). The only thing I really disliked was the attractogel because it made the otherwise smooth platforming awkward. It also felt less fair than the other mechanics. I also thought that the controls were somewhat floaty, but it was very minor. Great level, still. | 2013-08-12 04:10:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |

I've never played any of your levels as far as I remember, but I personally enjoy button interactive levels! Consider it Queued!!! | 2013-08-12 05:10:00 Author: Bryan_Zuckerberg Posts: 874 |

Well, that was an intense experience! I loved the level even if I did end up with a knot in my stomach! I enjoyed the combination of puzzle elements with platforming that tested your speed and skill (and button pressing agility!). You really do excel at button activation levels and I loved this new variation on the theme. It is just so refreshing to play something different from the norm. The attracto-gel was my undoing on several occasions. I just find it so hard to control, erratic even, so that it sort of interrupts the flow. That may well just be my lack of skill, though, and I suppose it adds an extra challenge, if a slightly frustrating one! The visuals were polished – the arrow trail thingies looked great – but I do agree with the comment someone made about the white light. It did get a bit too much at times for my taste. Thanks again for sharing this. I always get excited when you publish a new level. I had a blast playing this one as ever and I’m determined to return and improve my score. (On a side note, I did try playing it in multiplayer (with one other person) but it lagged so much that the platforming just became too difficult. I was having a generally laggy night though so that may not be true for others.) | 2013-08-14 10:02:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
I republished with a couple tweaks. The point distribution for the timer was not working so that is now fixed. The faster you complete the level, the more points you are awarded. Also changed every section with the attracto-gel. It is not eliminated but I switched things around or added bounce pads to assist the player with detaching. If I had made the level for only one player, I could have customized the gel for easier detaching. Toned down the lighting effects - might down right get rid of them to improve level performance. For a simple looking level, there is a lot of logic working behind the scenes especially because it allows for four players. Thanks like always. -El Guero | 2013-08-14 15:45:00 Author: ElGueroGigante Posts: 85 |
Thank you for making the adjustments. I think they did help with most of the attracto-gel obstacles. But it ruined my technique for getting through the one where you swing up from underneath and press triangle to grab the sponge, lol! I'm working on a revised solution, though, so just ignore this comment! I want to have another go at it in multiplayer too. It's interesting that you decided not to make it one player only. Anyways, I really just wanted to say that more people should play this level. It is great to see people experimenting with different kinds of gameplay. | 2013-08-16 14:05:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
