I've never truly watched a long film in LBP, but some of those 60 minute ones are tempting... Anyways, I'll take a look at your film at least on the beginning; Consider it Queued!!! 2013-08-06 16:32:00

Most impressive... most impressive indeed. A very clean and effective use of Sackbots, Movie Cameras, Magic Mouths, and enough special effects to make Michael Bay blink. My only thoughts on this is that the story was rather cliche. Character depth does not go very deep and there was no sense of despair because Omega Man seemed too invincible. I also wish the flying scenes would have O.M. fly... faster. But for as far as I know you have a half dozen blooper videos to prove that might not be such a good idea. In any case, congrats on a splendid film, have you written your Sackie speech yet?

My Full Report Card (for Movie Levels):
Appearance: 9 out of 10 - You barely got a away with the 1:1 Sackperson to Object realism scale in your level design. That is usually a no-no but it was not annoying in any case.
Story: 8 out of 10 - Not bad at all, but the script is a little dry and characters have no depth. Give them something to live for besides just living. I want to see something that makes me say "M. Night Shyamalan be darned! That is a twist!"
Characters: 8 out of 10 - Great costumes and designs. Again more depth and emotion would be nice.
Presentation: 8 out of 10 - Be a little more brave with the camera angles if possible. Most of the time felt too much side-scrolling.
Glitch Encounters: 10 out of 10: CLEAN! Admiral Grace Hopper not needed here today.

Thanks for the awesome review dude! It's greatly appreciated as this is my first time making a film this big. Depending how much feedback this film gets, I may make a sequel, and I will definitely take the character development into consideration. The main cast and crew from the film already say they would be willing to make another! Thanks again, and I am glad you liked it.

Side note for anyone else playing, if you decide to leave a review in game for the entire film, please leave it on the intro premiere level on my earth. Thanks everyone!

It's on YouTube now for those of you who can't go on LBP2.

(Note: For some reason some of the fade transitions were recorded oddly, but it doesn't hinder the viewing for long. Hope you enjoy. )

Could you go into greater detail on those categories, please?

*cracks knuckles*

Okay here. I firmly believe that there can be a lot of depth that can be conveyed from a Sackperson/bot in LittleBigPlanet. I do not know of another game that gives their controllable character 13 states of facial expression, can move the arms around freely, and either shake the head around like a baby rattle or wiggle the torso around like a worm in a bait can, and all of it can be captured using the Act-Record setting in the Sackbot Logic Chip. So one half of the battle is body language. Remember a picture is worth a thousand words and we are watching pictures at 60 frames a second. A good example is Avalon in story mode, his movements are over-zealous but show the extent of what we can do with Sackthing.

In the movie, another factor I had trouble swallowing was voice acting. Remember to try to imagine yourself in the moment. Omega man was worried and possibly when the Gravitron character tried to make a life size version of City of Heroes. So let his emotional control slip a little in his voice, let him get a little angry to the point of crying out in frustration. In the love scenes, I was half-expecting the wife of Omega man go into a complete fit when she saw her lover alive. I would, heck I cried for a day when I hit a puppy on the road when I was driving, even though there was nothing I could do about it. Don't be afraid to get a little melodramatic, especially in LittleBigPlanet. (Trust me the game was made for melodramas!)

Finally the story was dry because there seemed nothing worth going for other than self-preservation and keeping things normal. The best stories out there forces the protangonist to look within themselves to learn who they are and what is worth protecting. Omega man gave himself an aura of I am perfect but only I can handle it sort of impression. Sometimes the mayor seemed like he missed his cup of coffee (a quad-shot americano no doubt) for the fifth day in a row and even when he thought he had the edge against Omega Man did not allow any emotion to show.

Here is an example of allowing your emotions to take over in a moment of conflict:

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges (Skip to time index 37:25 seconds) (http://www.cbs.com/shows/star_trek_deep_space_9/video/WF5h4L2sYa_wqtWkZlILdO4D9BLaA8Lb/star-trek-deep-space-nine-inter-arma-enim-silent-leges)

If you skip the scene I refer to you see Julian Bashir frustrated that a rouge operative (Sloan) somehow makes a clean getaway from being assassinated by agents of the Romulan empire, to make matters worse he discovers that who he thought was willing to break the alliance between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire was actually also an accomplice to the operative's rouge organization (Section 31) and now a mole in the R.S.E. which lead to a Romulan woman being setup when she tried to help Bashir uncover what he thought was the truth. To keep it simple, someone was framed and convicted for a crime she did not commit, all to prevent this alliance from breaking and both inter-stellar nations being conquered by the threatening Dominion they are at war with. What is sad about all of this is that the Federation's most sacred principal, the Prime Directive (a charter and law that prevents Federation citizens from interfering in the rights and development of other species), was utterly violated in this fiasco. And any hardcore Star Trek fan would know, is what every major character in all versions of the franchise lives and dies to protect.

Let's run another example, this time tackling the tricky little concept called love. This is from my favorite anime, Angelic Layer. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiDoNV6Tvys)

Before this scene, the entire series mounts up to the girl Misaki winning her way in a electronic game called Angelic Layer. Little did she realize, her mother (the wheelchair bound woman, her name is Shuko) is actually the champion player of the game, and the game itself is a front to researching ways to cure her condition. Right before the final match of the year's national championship, Shuko, who was always afraid to come home to Misaki (for OVER 7 YEARS), came forward and revealed herself. However Misaki freaks out fearing that her mother's absence was because she felt that Shuko no longer wanted to do anything with her daughter. The point in this scene is the crying, the emotion, the heartbreak, both were in a fit that they were so far apart and neither realized it until it was too late. They realized they both lost something so precious to them, and it is in these scenes they finally are reunited. The lesson is that there is a reason for love, and when you can find that reason then love has meaning and is not shallow.

Now, even for a feature film like style like what this level was, can squeeze in just enough. Even a simple line placed early will give reason to want the audience to stick with each character if they know there is more than meets the eye. If it was me, when I see Omega man, I want to see him be more concerned about his loved one when he was on the brink of death, more than saving the world... again. While maintaining a guise for being cool and collected, the mayor should have eventually became as giddy as a school boy on the day before Summer vacation begin right when he knew (in his mind) he was going to rule the city. As for O.M's girl, the first thing she should have done was one well executed LBP style slap... then a romantic kiss while bauling to no ends. I want to be happy for her, really happy for her.

Now these are wishes that I would have like to have seen, however I will say again, this level series is really, really good, and I believe things can only get better for your awesome crew. You all are tackling a corner of LBP that is not very common , however I believe you all are on the frontier of making this genre in the game something big... really really big, that is why each of the categories earned at least 8 out of 10 from me.

And for my own betterment as an actor (as well as a minor nitpick/correction or two that are--in the long run--irrelevant, yet I still feel like addressing) :

Omega man was worried and possibly when the Gravitron character tried to make a life size version of City of Heroes.
There's no "r", it's Graviton. Like I said, irrelevant correction/nitpick. Just letting you know, though

Don't be afraid to get a little melodramatic, especially in LittleBigPlanet. (Trust me the game was made for melodramas!)
Will do! xD

Sometimes the mayor seemed like he missed his cup of coffee (a quad-shot americano no doubt) for the fifth day in a row and even when he thought he had the edge against Omega Man did not allow any emotion to show.
I'm not versed in different blends/mixtures of coffee. I can get the joke that it's like he's having caffeine withdrawals, but does the blend have anything to do with his vocal quality? I dunno, I still laughed

While maintaining a guise for being cool and collected, the mayor should have eventually became as giddy as a school boy on the day before Summer vacation begin right when he knew (in his mind) he was going to rule the city.
Jack Powers gets pretty unhinged once he fully assumes the Graviton mantle, but if he managed to become ruler, he would definitely be full of snarling smugness and maybe a few fits of triumphant laughter (maniacal or otherwise ). I'm not so sure on being giddy and giggly right at that particular scene in the park, though. It might have ruined the dramatic moment (and been out of place with his usual menace). Unless he doesn't feel Omega Man's pulse anymore, he's probably not going to start celebrating early. Omega Man's been a thorn in his backside for too long and his hard-fought (apparent) victory over his superheroic foe leaves him feeling only disdain and satisfaction.

Thank you for the kind words I'm certainly looking forward to what else Blackbeltnick95 may come up with in the future! If he decides to start working on The Last Hero III, we may see more character development from all the major characters (both good and evil).
