Welcome, one and all to the revival of the Character Design Contest! The power characters have to shape a world cannot be understated. Where would Avalonia be without Avalon? Would Honey Hunt be the same without Beatrice and her Cheshire cats? Can you imagine the Oh No, the Princess! series without its king? Have you ever stopped in the middle of a level to take a picture with a character, just because they're incredibly well designed? This contest is dedicated to these creative designs that turn good levels into truly great ones.

1. Following the theme, create a character in LBP1 or LBP2.
2. Put your creation in a level, and publish it so we can visit and ooh and aah at your creation. Feel free to flesh out where this character lives however you see fit, but judging is based on the character.
3. Post the level information in this thread (pictures are also appreciated )
4. Repeat, if you want! Only two entries are allowed per person per round, but feel free to switch out your entries before the deadline.

A level hub has been created to link to these creations here (http://lbp.me/v/m1v-yy), and the top three winners will be immortalized in this level's hall of fame. Moleynator has offered to record a level for the winner to go up on the Sackinima YouTube channel, thank him for his contribution here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=81143-Character-Design-Contest&p=1120982&viewfull=1#post1120982)!

Judging
1. Each judge will give each entry a rating based on CREATIVITY.
2. Ratings from each judge will be averaged.
3. The top 3 highest rated characters win.

Another LBPC tradition revived, AND a reference to one of my favorite LBP level series? Good luck with this, too bad I stink at creating characters in LBP, but I'm still anticipating to see how it will go. Given the giant timeframe for competing, will any possible future rounds be given their own separate threads as opposed to all being announced and judged here?2013-08-03 22:52:00

I'll look over future rounds after this round. Depending on the response (if there is any ) rules and formatting will have to change. The time frame at least will probably be around 2 weeks for future contests. I wanted to give at least a month for this first one, to see whether people are interested, and the 14th is my birthday, so it made a good end date 2013-08-03 23:03:00

Oh wow, I'm so pleased to see this contest being revived. The original one was such fun. Just seeing all those photos brought back so many memories, like being crushed in IceMaiden's EVIL washing machine - good times, lol!

If you need help with judging, I'd be very happy to volunteer. But if you get other offers from people who don't already get the chance to do things like that, it would probably be better for them to get a shot at it. You can stick me on the reserve list, if you like. 		2013-08-04 03:34:00

Well, I've finally decided to give this contest a chance! I mean, I'm lacking inspiration and I thought I'd be nice to try something new.
