Howdy fellow members of LittleBIGPlanet Central! I'm known as Bryan_Zuckerberg to those who know me or think they have met me before from LBPlanetarium! I'm pretty active and will continue to as much as I possibly can!

Anyways, I've decided to finally host my own contest for the community. I've been wanting to host one for a long time, but I haven't really gotten around to doing so, but now I am! So, let me give you the rules and requirements of this contest. Oh, and the prizes, but first the idea!

LittleBigPlanet has been "bomb"arded with millions of levels in the past. There are many that are good. A handful that are great. And just a couple that are truly incredible. But the majority of the rest are just average, if not terrible! Anyways, you have played at least one level from the latter category, right? Well that's what you'll be creating for this contest! This category has a wide expanse of genres, but I want you to focus on Survival. These are the shark, bomb, tsunami, zombie, killer, X number of jumps, etc. levels. Choose one of these survival styles, or create your own, and change the redundancy into an original masterpiece!

Requirements and Rules


The task is to build a level that is focused on survival in the form of something like a shark or bomb survival, but having it changed into an innovative form of that style.

Create an original previously unpublished level.

Your level should be based on gameplay (No Movies, but Cutscenes are allowed!).

Your entry should be ONE thermometer only. No cross-controller levels but stickers, decorations, wormholes, and materials from the cross-controller DLC are allowed.

Your level should be playable in LBP1, LBP2, or LBPV.

Publish your level between the 13th and 21st of September (The final deadline is 11.59 pm GMT on September 21st).

Please include the text “(CYIC1)” in your level title and post LBP.me links in this thread.

Only submit ONE entry. (I will only judge the first level if you have more than one!)

Do not republish after the final deadline. (You will need to PM me if you desire to make edits, otherwise, you will be disqualified!)



Still Confused?

I know that this is a kind of hard idea to comprehend for some of you, but a great level that shows you what I'm talking about is shookie_monster's My Companion Bomb (http://lbp.me/v/k3jmcd)! This level takes the idea of having a bomb survival, but flips it completely into a new idea that makes you want to replay the level, not wish the boo system was still around!

Another example is creating a level with a backstory to what happens to all the sharks that you find in a Shark survival level or what caused the Angry Birds to come to LBP's bomb survivals instead of staying in their home world. You can come up with something that has a good story, but remember that you must have some kind of survival element! Be creative!

Prizes

The first place prize will be a $20 PSN card or its nearest equivalent in another region and any LBP DLC pack of the winner's choosing!

The runner-up will win a $10 PSN card!

I might change the prizes for a bigger bonus if I get plenty of interest for this contest!

I would offer a LBPC Pin, but I don't have the authority to...

Man!!! I planned to do a contest with this very same theme a few months ago but I never did. The przies are truly awesome, and I hope quite a bunch if people actually create something cool. Hopefully I'll find some time and create something in LBPV. Little question: Do LBPV levels compete directly with LBP2's ones? I mean, for the grand prize? This is a really neat idea, Bryan_Zuckerberg! Makes me want to think about what would happen if Sea Monster/Shark survival levels got remade as well. I'm definitely looking forward to the results!

That seems like a good idea to me

I've been trying to think all day of a way to make some kind of bomb survival that can be differenced from the bunch with some pretty cool logic or graphics or something but what I've come up with isn't still good enough. I'll keep thinking what can I create for the contest 		2013-08-03 18:36:00

The deadline I have is a total of 50 days since I first posted this if I recall correctly! The amount is about equal to that of LBPC11!


Anyways, thanks to all of you who have shown interest in placing an entry towards this contest! I thought I would give you some updates:

1) I promised a rubric as to how I will grade the contest and I will hopefully have it up in the next few days!

Update Time! So, it's been quite a while since I last posted on here, but I have some good news! I might have to extend the final deadline as a result of low amount of freetime due to school and such! The promised rubric is still in the progress of being made, but I will have it out by either this Sunday or next weekend. I'm hoping to see more updates from any of you who do have entries in progress and keep checking back, especially during the weekend, to learn more about any updates and spread the word around if you can!

I find it very surprising not many people enter contests, not to mention (PSN Cash Prizes)!?!? This was probably the most realistic contest for anyone to enter. I did not want my last week of summer to be jammed up inside. Let alone for the extension I failed to realize how much time I don't have this year after school.
