Problem getting Sackbot behavior chip to activate.

Archive: 5 posts

I'm having trouble getting an acting sequence to play back. Here's what I've done.

1. Placed a 2nd behavior chip on the SB's circuit board. The default chip is set to "idle"
2. Using the 2nd chip i recorded a sequence.
3. I set it to play once.
4. I placed a battery on a Sequencer and the battery is connected to the behavior chip on the SB board.

The problem is that when i activate the Sequencer the behavior chip doesn't activate. I can see that the battery is activated but nothing happens. I also have a magic mouth on the Sequencer that is using the same actor name that the SB is set to so the lips are synched up. The magic mouth is working fine.

Am i missing something? I am doing this correctly, right?

Well, that's weird. I would do it over again to check if something is missing. You can change your logic a bit to what I always use and maybe it'll work for you but it's basically the same and I don't know why yours' isn't working.

So, get the battery in your sequencer connected to a counter set to 1. Connect the counter to the sackbot's acting/ behaviour chip and also to the counter's reset input. If that doesn't work either (lolwhy) you should upload a photo of what are you doing and maybe I can help you find if something is wrong. Also, check that the standard chip isn't turned on by something else continuously.

Is the behavior chip already active? Maybe you accidentally activated the behavior chip and it played once already. Try activating the default behavior chip again and your other behavior chip should work find afterwards.2013-08-03 05:29:00

Hi SirGreenDay,
It sounds like the battery is just not selecting the second 'Act 'behaviour chip. Strange one that.
Its not the sequencer as its firing the battery and magic mouth.
As a default the basic behaviour chip is active, so you will need to 'off' this and 'on' the second.

A few things you could try_
Check the battery. Delete the old on in case it glitched somehow and place a fresh one (see is it accidently set to 0% just in case...set to 100%) and extend its lenght a bit on the sequencer to give it more on time.
Wire up this new battery to a the cycle input on a two port selector. On this selector have the first ports output going to the original idle chip. Have the second ports output going to the new act chip. set the selectors initial position to port 1.

As the sequencer starts, the SB's selector is activating the idle chip, but as it hits the extended battery it will cycle to poprt 2 on the selector, turning on the act chip and turning off the idle one.

I hope this works buddy

As said above, the main one being idle is in charge until you turn it off as well as select the new behavior. So having them both ran by the selector will help. ..well, each on it's own selector position that is. lol

..that's the problem with these two brain beings... the original brain is always in charge until you flip them off.
