This frog won't jump!

Archive: 5 posts

Hey can anyone suggest a tutorial about how to control sprites. I want to make a frog jump to left and right, up down but with the controllinator it is, well just floaty and perpetual motion. I am not very good with logic, and tutorials have been a lifesaver. But the only one I can find on controlling sprites is for LBP not the vita I may have to resort to using touch, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.2013-08-02 15:34:00

I cannot quite come up with a good Vita specific sprite-tutorial, but anything you find for LBP2 should be transferable. It will probably require a bit of logic to get the animations to blend nicely though. I do know simple sprite work can be done with either Selectors or Sequencers and a lot of wires...
Have you tried searching the forum?

How large is the frog?

A couple of thoughts.. first off if the frog isn't that large, you could make the sticker panel much larger and thus control the jump via placement on the panel higher and lower. Then it would be a matter of sequencing which animation and moving it side to side etc.

Another thought is use the motion recorder and matching up the sticker sequences accordingly.

..and then I found this that might help.

Thanks so much. I am using batteries for the animation but it sounds like the selector is the way to go , I will check it now.... I tried the motion recorder but it was cluncky, its the only word that I can think of to describe it. Great Idea about the sticker panel, I will try that

Update: The frog is Jumping, that is an excellent tutorial...........
