I Love My Companion Bomb 2

Archive: 10 posts

The explosive sequel is finally here. Same concept as the first level. Carry your bomb all the way to the scoreboard without dying or letting your bomb touch anything! Slightly less difficult than the first level but I personally think it is more enjoyable platforming. A big point bonus is available by collecting all the point bubbles and also reaching the scoreboard with your bomb. As always, any feedback is welcomed and appreciated!

there's no doubt, I love these levels! I love everything about them. The design is impeccable and I can't tell you how many times I died because of looking around at all the eye candy this level has to offer. I think you did that on purpose http://www.littlebignetwork.com/public/style_emoticons/default/Happysack.png I love the new obstacles and how at first glance you're thinking, there's no way, spikes! But then you hold your breath and go for it. Man, I can't tell you how much this level got my heart to pumping and literally made me wince and took my breath away in spots. Here's why. In one spot there is this thing in the background that follows you to the right and then there is a vertical beam that moves in and out. When the background follower gets to that beam, just as you jump, it makes a clunking sound and for a minute, your heart stops because you think you just blew up! I've never been so tense in a NON horror level. Kudos brother! Awesome level that deserves a million plays.2013-07-30 15:40:00

Like bio said, this level and the first one deserve a million plays. I can’t tell you how sweaty my hands became when I only learned you planned to make a part two, let alone tackling the first few obstacles before…BOOM! This type of level should get any normal human’s blood boiling almost instantly and send your anxiety level skyrocketing to the moon.

I’m quite sure the R1 button on my controller is supremely ****** at the force I apply to it as I hop, skip and die throughout your maze of simple, yet deathly contraptions. The worst part of this whole level is getting so far and dying and then doing a quick restart and dying almost instantly because you were in such a dang hurry to get back to where you just left off. This level and the first one are just plain devious and outstanding. I know this, because every time I die in a total fit of rage…I’m also smiling and giving you a virtual fist pump for a job well done.

Can I give a bit of constructive criticism?

I haven't gotten very far in this one, mainly because of the first obstacle with the moving black/yellow barriers. It's not difficult, but it's a painfully slow part. I think the starting obstacles should be reasonable fast paced, and personally I think it's be better slightly later on.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone.

@ali_star. The intent of the level is not to be fast paced or slow paced. The obstacles are meant to be challenging regardless of their speed and the level is meant to raise stress levels but to also be fun. I didn't want to start the level with a hard obstacle as it would deter people from replaying.

Fair enough, but my point is that because this is a level you may need to replay 5+ times, having a slow (and not not particularly difficult) obstacle near the start can test your patience a bit, IMO.2013-08-03 09:34:00

Thanks again for the feedback. If the level tested your patience then in a way it was designed to do just that. More to come...maybe a co-op version.2013-08-06 01:46:00

Holy C9 Batman! This level is a perfect hard level. Creators take note, the level is easy to understand and attempt to do, but it challenges any player's skill in a survival like enviroment. This is a perfect hard level. Simple obstacles but so hard... hard to overcome. I love it. The only significant flaw in this level is the intro. You did provide a quick button get-around, however if you accidentally start it, then you are stuck to waddle through that (cameras can't be skipped, can't accelerate speech bubbles). However, this flaw barely scratches the surface of what is otherwise a diamond-class level. Well done... very well done. My only regret is that I have yet to ace the level completely, finally fatiguing on the patterned three column smashers (after the 5,000 point safety zone) so I hope there is nothing ahead that I am missing out on too much. However do not worry I intend to retake this level and ace it one day. Right now I am heating up my leftovers to make green chili burritos. Yum.

My full score card:
Appearance: 10 out of 10 - Great use of the cross controller pack materials!!
Functionality: 10 out of 10 - Great for a single player and properly discourages multiplayer play
Difficulty balance: 10 out of 10 - You make sure you declared it to be hard, and it is a perfect hard, simple for the player to understand, just not to do it.
Glitch encounters: 10 out of 10 - No found glitches!!
Presentation: 9 out of 10 - Your only ding was the inability to skip the tutorial mid way if it was accidentally started (something I did often). Other than that, a simple, enjoyable and clutter free level.
