So, first off, thankyou to everyone who gave my levels a go yesterday! I managed to gain on average 20 plays per level and 5-10 yays One thing feels empty about the rating system. The boo button was taken out. Here's my problem. I published a level and it got 30 plays, 10 yays and 5 hearts. Now, when the boo button was around, i'd usually get around 1-2 boos on my level. This would make me feel good. I'd think, out of the thirty people that played my level, 10 thought it was amazing and yayed it, 18 people played it, enjoyed it but didn't like it as much as the yay people, and 2 people disliked my level. This makes me feel good, as i see it as 28 people enjoyed my level and only 2 didn't like it. Now that my level has 30 plays, 10 yays but no boos because the option to dislike a level was taken away, i think to myself, "Oh, so only 10 people liked my level out of the thirty who played it, and since they didn't leave reviews, i can't tell if the twenty people who didn't yey it hated my level. Now i feel as if people hate my levels even if they don't, because there is no actual rating system anymore. What was wrong with the five star rating system? It means that there is a measure of quality rather than, "Booo!!!" or "Yay i loved it!!!". I just feel unsatisfied and i worry what the 20 people who didn't yay and review thought of my level, whereas if there was a dislike button i'd know how many disliked it. Now, i see people not bothering to Yay my level as a sign of, "I hated it" rather than, "I enjoyed it but i don't feel that i liked it strongly enough to give it a yay" Does this bother any of you guys, when you see only a third of people who played have left reviews and yayed?

No I'm not bothered by ratings or lack of. I create levels mainly for myself. Not because I want attention from anybody. Boo rating was removed because people abused it. Star rating was removed because again it was abused. "Rated it 5 if they liked it or Rated 1 if they disliked it even a little bit" And the star system didn't let you skip rating even if you wanted to. If people don't like your level, then they can explain to you why in a review. If they can't be bothered to actually explain why. Then it's probably best they don't share their opinion anyways imo. *mew

We don't need another petition, a cry to sign it, nor yet another thread to discuss it. Those frustrated with the cool pages should simply pay more attention to the Level Showcase as well as the Community Spotlights for choice levels to play. You can also follow your favorite creators and friends hearted lists via LBP.me or look at the activity in game. Due to the demographics of who all play the game and their ages, the cool levels are pretty much always going to be "kiddy land". Complaining about it is almost like worrying about the content of the National Inquirer or those other rag mags that adorn the checkout line at your local supermarket. Most intelligent folks look elsewhere for quality. Locking.
