Can anyone help me make this simple task which I cant do!

Archive: 8 posts

Straight to the point, In the pictures labeled 1, 2, 3.

Overall: My contraption begins here, I want my sackboy to grab onto the circle and for the circle to spin around to get to the destination and stop. Then for the sackboy to ungrab the circle, get off and for the contraption to go back to its starting position.

Picture 1: I've included a microchip with a grab sensor and a rotater onto the point which the contraption turns.

Picture 2: I want the contraption to turn that way and stop when it reaches the platform.

Picture 3: When the player/sacboy lets go and goes onto the platform, the contraption should go back to where it started.

It seems so simple but I have no idea what to do, I've tried using direction combiners to angle sensors. I am sick of looking at tutorials and copying the code, I want to make this myself with help from others. I would be greatful if anyone helped me.

What you're trying to do is very straightforward.
You just need a Wobble Bolt with the correct settings.
Make sure it's set to Forwards/Backwards. This means that if the input is active, the bolt rotates to position 1, if it's inactive, it rotates to position 2.
It's just a case of some trial and error to get the rotation radius and angles correct.

I think I've understood your problem correctly. In which case there's no need for the Rotator. However the Rotators do make things a little easier, so here's an alternative solution -

Set the Wobble Bolts radius correctly, but set the strength to 0% or just replace the Wobble Bolt with a regular bolt.
Create a Selector with 2 ports. Wire the Grab Switch into Selector Input 2.
Wire Selector output 2 into Input 1.
Wire Selector Outputs 1 and 2 into a pair of Gyroscopes. Rotate the Gyroscopes so they face the correct directions. When the Grab Switch is active, the lower Gyroscope (Selector Output 2) will be active, when it's not, the upper Gyroscope will be active.

Firstly, this is LBPVita. Mod, please move to "[LBPV] Help!".

Secondly, Ostler the genius has displayed both possible solutions. Thank him.

Right, well, take Solution 2 that I gave you, and modify it.
Remove the wire going into Selector Input 1. (The one that loops out of the Selector and back in.)
And replace that wire with whatever the criteria you want to reach before the sponge goes back to position one.
Like, try an Inverted Player Sensor to start with. Wire that Player Sensor into Selector Input 1.

Now, what will happen is players grab the sponge, activating the Selector, the sponge moves to position 2. Then players leave the radius of the Player Sensor and the Selector makes the sponge go back to position 1. You can then play around with that Player Sensors settings or replace it with something else until you're happy.
